John-Paul Lavoisier

INTERVIEW: John-Paul Lavoisier on Beacon Hill, Spending Time With Tuc Watkins' Twins and Missing OLTL

One Life to Live's resident bad boy is back! John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex Balsom) is making a return to soapdom in the highly-anticipated web sudser Beacon Hill. I caught up with the sexy actor, who revealed what he's been up to since saying goodbye to Llanview. He also provided insight into his new character, political heir Eric Preston.

Daytime Confidential: We haven’t seen you around in a while. What have you been up to since One Life to Live ended it’s run on ABC?
John-Paul Lavoisier: Since OLTL, I've been busy with babies! Really. My friend Tuc [Watkins] had twins last year, a boy and a girl, and I spend almost everyday with them. They're great. Tuc and I also do a really great 100 minute workout at Runyon Canyon called "The Full Dolores" three times a week. We have T-shirts. You get one once you complete "her." READ MORE

Wishful Casting Poll: Which Soap Hunk Should Play General Hospital's Dillon Q?

If you ask most General Hospital fans (definitely the ones who log onto message boards and blogs like this one) what they'd most like to see happen with the soap, a good many would likely mention rebuilding the decimated Quartermaine family. While Edward (John Ingle), Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Tracy (Jane Elliott) all still live in the fictional burg of Port Charles, New York—and are even interacting a bit more with prodigal Q's Jason (Steve Burton) and Michael (Chad Duell)— there's no denying the days of the classic Q's from the 80's and 90's acting out Shakespearean tragedies and comedies in Monica's living room, have been over for years.

All of that being said, there is a whole generation of young adult Quartermaines whom PC purists would love to see come home, one being Tracy's youngest son Dillon Quartermain (né Hornsby). Last played by Scott Clifton, Dillon's comic interplay with his stepfather Luke (Tony Geary), as well as his saccharine-sweet love story with Felicia and Frisco's youngest daughter Georgie (Lindze Letherman) made the character a fan fave. Even when his wandering, teenage pecker had him cheating on Georgie with Paprika, er Sage Alcazar, or bumping uglies with his stepsister Lulu (Julie Marie Berman) on the boathouse floor, all it took was one of Dillon's "awe shucks" looks, or frantic ramblings about wanting to be the next Spielberg, and Georgie and fans alike were forgiving him.

With Clfton currently logging time on the very frontburner as Liam on CBS Daytime's The Bold and the Beautiful, it isn't likely he'll be bringing Dillon back to Port Charles anytime soon, however with all the recent soap cancellations and cut backs, a slew of Clifton's soap-o-peers are currently out of a day(time) job. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Clifton's fellow One Life to Live alum Josh Kelly (ex-Cutter) provide a slightly edgier take on the role.

Speaking of OLTL, what about Clifton's onetime onscreen sorta brother John-Paul Lavoisier (ex-Rex)? When the two acted together in Llanview, fans couldn't get over how similar their quirky mannerisms were. Also from OLTL, there's David Gregory (ex-Ford), although since Gregory just played a horny, aspiring filmmaker, that might be a little deja vu for fans who watched both soaps.

If it would just be too weird to recast the role of Dillon with an ex-OLTL star, what with Starr (Kristen Alderson) and the gang in town, maybe ex-Days of Our Lives hunk Brandon Beemer would work? Beemer and his abs were just bumped to recurring at B&B, and if there is anyone who knows how to make good and proper use of eye candy, it's Frank and Ron. What do you guys think?

If GH were to bring back Dillon Quartermaine, who should play the role?

Jenna Gering on Dirty Soap's Future: "Not Being Picked Up"

Bad news soap fans. Dirty Soap's Jenna Gering announced via Twitter the show will not return for a second season. Gering, wife of Days of Our Lives' Galen Gering tweeted:

Such a shame. Now where am I going to see the show's breakout star, and Nadia Bjorlin's, mother Fary go in on people?

Will Dirty Soap Return For Season 2?

Is Dirty Soap coming back for a second season? Cast member and One Life To Live star Farah Fath answered the million dollar question fans of the reality series are dying to know via Twitter:

Dirty Soap's Nadia Bjorlin's Mom on Brandon Beemer: "If You Get Married and Have Children, I Will Kill You Myself!"

Dang, son! A new episode of E!'s addictive reality sudser Dirty Soap debuted tonight and it wasn't the soapers who were stealing all the scenes, it was their moms (Although Farah Fath's revelation to One Life to Live costar Josh Kelly that JP Lavoisier's ahem, rooster has a tendency to pop out of those pajamas he's forever sporting was almost the episode's parmount moment!)!

Lavoisier's mom, Bambi was worried about her baby boy moving to LA and being rushed into a marriage she thinks he might not be ready for. Bambi, however was about as ferocious as the Disney cartoon character she shares a name with, compared to Nadia Bjorlin's mother Fary! To say Mama Bjorlin isn't feeling her striking daughter's relationship with the equally beautiful Brandon Beemer is an understament on par with saying Kelly Monaco's General Hospital mom Nancy Lee Grahn is a wee bit opinionated on Twitter!

When Mama Bjorlin wasn't cooking up delicious Persian dishes on tonight's eppy, she was calling Beemer names like "stupid" and "arrogant." She also told The Bold and the Beautiful star, to his face, he had no class and said to Nadia, "If you get married and have children, I will kill you myself." Yowser!

Not to say all of Mama Bjorlin's hateration was unmerited, since a clip from next week's show spoils The Beems forgetting Bjorlin's birthday! What do you guys think?

Is Mama Bjorlin the new Supreme Reality Super Bitch, or is she right to be going after Beemer about how he treats her kid?

Does Dirty Soap Get Your Vote?

Reality TV factory E! debuted former All My Children supercouple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' docu-sudser Dirty Soap on Sunday night. The sexy, glossy series featured Nadia Bjorlin embarking on her last day on the set of Days of Our Lives as opera singer-turned-hooker Chloe Lane, supportive boyfriend Brandon Beemer (Owen, The Bold and the Beautiful) by her side.

Also from DAYS was Galen Gering (Rafe), whose wife Jenna Gering was tired of being the wallflower at cast parties, but was apparently even more weary of seeing her hubby kiss Alison Sweeney (Sami) on national TV (Uh, how long has Galen been acting in soaps? This is just now an issue?).

Bjorlin's former castmate and galpal Farah Fath was also on hand. The mouthy scene stealer was in the process of relocating to La La Land in the premiere, after her time as One Life to Live's Gigi came to an end (Or has it?). Meanwhile, Fath's real and reel life leading man JP Lavoisier (Rex, OLTL) was avoiding relocating from NYC to Hollyweird like the plague.

Also in the cast were Fath and Bjorlin's former DAYS' costar Kirsten Storms (Maxie, General Hospital), whom Fath was nervous about bumping into, due to their complicated past.  Storm's homegirl in and out of the fictional town of Port Charles, Kelly Monaco (Sam) was also along for the "unscripted" ride, and finding it hard to ditch the belongings of some dude she'd dated since like The Fresh Prince of Belair was still in production.

I thought the show was a fun, splashy—if sometimes silly—hoot. I cannot wait to see Fath and Storms showing out this season on Dirty Soap, especially if liquor and nightclubs are involved! I also think it's hella cool that at a time when every single mainstream media headline is screaming "Soaps Are Dead," one of the hottest channels around—catering to the very demos soaps need to survive—is basically offering a 10-week promotional blitz for suds. What did you guys think?
