Joshua Morrow Looks Back as Y&R Turns 40

The Young and the RestlessJoshua Morrow (Nick) took a look back at his 20 years on the sudser with MSN entertaintment,as the number one sudser turns the big 4-0. The chat covered everything from his start on the soap in 1994, to the iconic storyline that killed off his on-screen daughter Cassie (Camryn Grimes) in 2005. Here's a snippet:

Y&R’s got a new executive producer in charge.

I’m an athlete and I take sports very seriously. Jill [Farren Phelps] came in and gave us a very strong, commanding voice as a coach. Now, that style of leadership sometimes rubs people the wrong way. Sometimes people are kind of hanging on to the past but I think we really needed some serious leadership. Some kind of “Shut the eff up, get on your marks and let’s go!” She is no joke. I love her for it. I love [former executive producer and head writer] Maria [Arena Bell] too. I thought she was very nurturing. We got along very well. She did a great job. Even Jack Smith before that. They all really respected Nick and always kept me busy – there’s nothing else I could ask for. They all have different styles of leadership. I really like Jill and Josh Griffith has done a great job writing. I can give anybody the benefit of the doubt, but you come in here and do a good job. That’s all I ask for. I take my job very seriously. I want this show to continue and if it takes these two people to do it, then let’s go!

Jill’s brought some friends with her.

Yes, many.

Is Summer a Newman or an Abbott on The Young and the Restless?

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I become absolutely irate when anyone even jokes about the possibility of Summer (Hunter King) being Jack Abbott's (Peter Bergman) biological daughter on The Young and the Restless. In my mind, Summer is the daughter of Phyllis "Red" Summers (Michelle Stafford) and dimpled, speakeasy proprietor Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and that's THAT! But could I be wrong?

In the March 25-April 8 issue of CBS Soaps In Depth, the magazine raised the question of a paternity puzzle with both King and Y&R scribe Josh Griffith.

Said King of her conversations with Griffith:

"I ask Josh almost every day, 'Whose daughter am I?' she smiles. "He says to me, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'

While Griffith told the mag Nick is simply being protective of Summer, in not wanting his daughter pursuing anything with Kyle (Blake Hood)—as opposed to trying to prevent a Greek tragedy—the writer did offer this cryptic tease:

"We're looking at the possibility of anything."

Lord have mercy, y'all are gonna make Phick lovers call up the Lane fans and ask for the number of one of them there banner plane pilots!

Do you guys think Summer will turn out to be Nick's child, or Jack's?

Can Nick Protect Avery and Her Moist, Delicious Cupcakes on Young and Restless?

Things were so much simpler for lady lawyer and unabashed foodie Avery Clark (Jessica Collins) a few months back on The Young and the Restless. She spent her days working for Newman Enterprises, and her nights offering up her warm, tasty, delectable treats to her sister's ex-husband.

Now someone wants Avery dead and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is determined to find out why! On today's episode of Y&R, the Newman scion-turned-bar keep confronts Congressman Wheeler (Mark Pinter) about his interest in Avery's Innocence Foundation case load. Fen Takes Michael to the Woodshed Over His Past Crimes on The Young and the Restless

Practically everyone in Genoa City was at the opening of Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) new club, Underground, except Michael (Christian LeBlanc), Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Victor (Eric Braeden).

The Baldwin parents were at home, worried about Fen (Max Ehrich). Michael and Lauren engaged in a shouting match. Michael said he didn’t want Fen to become him. Lauren shot back that Fen wasn’t capable of becoming his father. Lauren, Lauren, you are delusional. Fen returned home and his conversation with Michael quickly went downhill. READ MORE
