Today's episode of General Hospital was an evil manipulation of Liason fan's emotions. Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) may be cute, and I'm willing to admit they have chemistry, but they shouldn't be the endgame.
 
When Jason spotted Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Jake together, the look of pain from being separated from them which flashed across his face was proof positive that Sam is nothing more than a romantic crutch he'll hobble along on until the day comes–be it ever so distant– when he reunites with Elizabeth and his son.

Variations of white were popular on the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet. Outstanding Younger Actress winner Julie Marie Berman chose the color, as did The Young and the Restless' Michelle Stafford, Jeanne Cooper and Judith Chapman, General Hospital's Kelly Monaco and Lisa LoCicero, The Bold and the Beautiful's Alley Mills and Lesli Kay and All My Children's Chrishell Stause, who looked fantastic. Rebecca Herbst and Kelly Monaco were among several General Hospital stars who recently taped a children's book for Speakaboos, according to Examiner.com. Though not specifically mentioned in the article as having taped for Speakaboos, GH's Greg Vaughan and Jason Thompson also appear in candid photos from the taping.

General Hospital star Kelly Monaco chatted with Soap Opera Digest and dispelled any fears fans had when the magazine posted on their web site that a casting call was sent out for her alter ego Sam McCall two weeks ago. The actress also clarified thoughts of ongoing drama behind the scenes:  

It wasn't even a scare tactic. It's just standard procedure. If my stuff wasn't signed by sometime a.m., then they have to send out a breakdown. I got a call from my boss [Jill Farren Phelps, executive producer] early on in the day saying, 'Don't be alarmed but there's a breakdown going out,' so I knew all about it.

Must be a new plan created at GH after the males on the show re-signed...

JaSam fans can sleep tight tonight. According to Emmy producer Jim Romanovich, Kelly Monaco has re-signed with General Hospital. Here's what Romanovich tweeted:

Kelly Monaco is not going anywhere. i have heard from a source inside GH that she has re-signed.

Nothing like a little casting call to get negotiations moving I suppose. Here I thought they only did mobster moves on screen over at GH!

Hey Guys!  So I’m back, sort of. With needing the time off from DC to attend to some personal stuff I also had to take a break from the rest of my life as well. So its catch up time for me with everything including my soap watching. The time away was supposed to turn me into a daytime TV bum but that didn’t happen. Kelly Monaco's status at General Hospital remains in question as costars Steve Burton and Nancy Lee Grahn tweeted responses to Soap Opera Digest's report the show was looking to recast the role of Sam McCall. Burton tweeted a simple, 

Kelly Monaco is not leaving.

Grahn slipped in a comment as she signed off from Twitter for night saying: 

This left handed, freedom loving, McCarthy hating, Meryl loving, Child's envying, Monaco's staying, Kate loving, mommy is outta here. nite all.
