AMC's Hayley and Mateo are Back!

I am in heaven! The first of All My Children's two-day 40th anniversary celebration aired today and kicked off with the arrival of Hayley (Kelly Ripa) and Mateo (Mark Consuelos). It is fantastic seeing them back, even if it is for such a short amount of time. Hayley's one liners have me rolling. I can't wait to see all the other familiar faces who have been missing from Pine Valley when they pop up today and tomorrow.

One complaint, anniversary episodes should not be wasted on characters like Madison (Stephanie Gatschet). Share your thoughts on AMC's 40th anniversary after the jump. We'll update the post with more screencaps later today. READ MORE

Oprah Scraps Friday Roundtable, Mark Consuelos

The New York Post is reporting that Mark Consuelos will no longer be appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Fridays.
"Oprah" is moving away from the Friday-panel format it introduced last season, when Consuelos, et al. discussed a variety of topical issues each week.

Consuelos' rep declined comment yesterday, but sources say the actor, who's married to "Live's" Kelly Ripa, was inked to only a one-year deal.

The article indicates the decision to scrap the round table may have been ratings related. Alexandra Wentworth and Gayle King will continue to appear as "regulars" on the show.

Kelly Ripa "Sad" About AMC Move To Los Angeles

Renaissance woman Kelly Ripa sounds off on former stomping ground All My Children's move to Los Angeles. The Live with Regis and Kelly host recently spoke with AOL Television about Masters of Reception, the upcoming reality show that she and husband Mark Consuelos are producing, when the news that rocked the soap world came up. READ MORE

Speaking of All My Children, are you both sad about the news that the production is moving from New York to Los Angeles?

Kelly: I really am. I'm sad for the actors and the crew in New York, because that show has employed so many actors and camera operators, production guys and sound technicians over the years. And, I just saw [AMC creator] Agnes Nixon's daughter last weekend, and I was thinking about how without her and [AMC], Mark and I wouldn't have met, wouldn't have gotten married, wouldn't have our three kids. We wouldn't be doing the show, or 'Live,' maybe none of the things that are happening with us. This interview wouldn't even be happening, and I think we can all agree that would be a very sad thing.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Split?

The National Enquirer is reporting that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have split but as Jossip put it The National Enquirer "has a tendency to be speculative and inflammatory as often as it correct and inflammator."

Update: Kelly Ripa's rep told Us Magazine "There is no truth to the story. Their marriage continues to be quite healthy and the National Enquirer should be ashamed for fabricating such an untruthful story."
