DAYS November Sweeps Video Preview

There are no words to describe how much this video preview of Days of Our Lives November Sweeps annoys me.

Posted on the NBC Days website here, the video starts with Philip in bed with Melanie, then Dr Dan and Chloe are making eyes at each other, Rafe and Sami begin their 'The Bodyguard' sexual tension thing, and then you're left with the lasting image of EJ and Nicole getting jiggy with it... UGH! NO!

I do not care about Melanie (no offense to Molly Burnett) and I don't want her with Philip. Is this pairing with Chloe meaning they're giving up on Daniel and Kate already? Rafe and Sami could be interesting but I don't think Sami needs another love interest, and as for the EJ and Nicole stuff - well that's just EW. More important is what we don't see on this preview. Where is Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla, John and Marlena? Tony and Anna? Stefano? Victor? Caroline? It's like everyone over 40 has been sent back to Melaswen - and personally I think they've sent the wrong characters.

What do you think? Does this preview make you excited about Sweeps?

Caption This: Let's Play a Game!

Here is Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) in the Java Cafe on Monday's episode of Days of Our Lives. What would you have Philip saying here? Here's a few that came to my mind:

1. Philip: "Pick a hand! Pick a hand!"

2. Philip: "Cuff me and take me down to the Salem PD so I don't have to talk to Melanie anymore. We all know she wont follow me down there!"

3. Philip: "Heyyyyy Macarena!"

Give it your best shot!

DC #314: Bryan Dattilo Interview

Days of Our Lives’ Bryan Dattilo drops by Daytime Confidential to visit with Luke and Jamey about hosting ACME This Week on Saturday October 25, 2008 at 8pm.

Bryan talks about his son Gabe, and how being a father has impacted his onscreen role as a father to his and Sami’s son Will. He shares how he coaches his son’s pee wee flag football team and how his son has picked up on his father’s hip hop roots.

The Innocence of Youth, Lost

The other day I was thinking, quite a shock I know, about the fact that very few of today's soaps have true "teen" (pre college) storylines anymore.

Gone are the days of teen storylines such as General Hospital's Lucky, Elizabeth, Nikolas and Emily, Days of Our Lives' Belle, Shawn, Chloe and Brady and The Young and the Restless' Glo by Jabot Kids. The classic "four teen" formula that dominated much of soaps through the late 90's, and made stars out of Jonathan Jackson, Rebecca Herbst, Tyler Christopher, Kirsten Storms, Jason Cook, Nadia Bjorlin, Kyle Lowder, Farah Fath and countless others before them, seems to have been replaced by the "duo."

As the World Turns has Parker and Liberty. General Hospital doesn't have any true teens. The Young and the Restless has Noah and Eden. The Bold and the Beautiful has Stephanie and Marcus (not true teens).  All My Children's last attempt at recreating the forumla bombed and the show is now rebuilding with Colby and Petey. Guiding Light has Daisy and Rafe. Days of Our Lives,  which practically defined the formula with Sami, Austin, Carrie and Lucas, has no true teen characters except maybe Melanie. A character not even Blake Berris' Nick Fallon (a post college character) can save.

At the moment only One Life to Live seems to be following the "four teen" formula with Starr (Kristen Alderson), Cole (Brandon Buddy), Langston (Brittany Underwood) and Markko Rivera (Jason Tam). Now granted, at least one of these four actors isn't actually a teen, but the characters are all still in highschool. In honor of these four characters I thought I'd see which couple fans enjoy most.

Which couple is your favorite?

Days of Our Lives: Rumors, Spoilers, Gossip and More!

Welcome to your mid-week fix of Days of Our Lives Rumors, Spoilers, Gossip and More!

Rumors and Gossip
Does Salem no longer need the ISA?  Maybe so.  Online reports are saying that Galen Gering's new character will be an FBI Agent, who comes to Salem on a special case.  Hmm, I wonder if this will involve Sami (Alison Sweeney), the Salemite he's reported to share scenes with.  When will we see the  ex-Passions hunk on our screens?  Sources say late October.  Is it possible for a soap to have too much eye candy??  Nah!  Crank up that sauna Days...

What of Galen's ex-Passions costar, Eric Martsolf (ex-Ethan Winthrop)?  As a recast Brady Black, he's returning to Salem around mid-November to deal with ex-wife Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), because divorcing her wasn't enough it seems.  I guess that means Chloe will be sticking around for awhile... Brandon Beemer Mini-Interview: "I Hope [Nadia] Will Let Me Keep Her Forever"

Bold and Beautiful hearttrob Brandon Beemer (Owen) recently re-launched his official website ( The site is almost as hot as Beemer and his galpal Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe, Days) in their recent so-hot-you-need-a-cigarette-after-viewing photo spread for Fixation Magazine. I recently caught up with Brandon via email. The generous actor talked about the new site, how much fun he's having on The Bold and the Beautiful and of course his lady love.
