Mighty O No! Nate Berkus Show "Sputtering" in the Ratings

Not all protégés are created equal it would seem. The New York Post is reporting Oprah’s Midas Touch isn’t quite working on The Nate Berkus Show. The chatfest appears to be fading fast, with ratings falling well behind Nancy Grace’s new show Swift Justice.

"Berkus is likeable, but he pings from decorating to mommy bloggers to saving money to auction tips with the occasional celebrity appearance, making it difficult to discern the show's true identity,"

I can’t say this news surprises me. While Berkus has been one of my favorite Oprah “regulars" over the years, when I tried watching his solo show I found myself wanting to change the channel faster than a teen boy who was caught watching Skinemax by his parents, not that I would know anything about that, of course.

Oprah Snags Rosie's New Show

The new dynamic duo? Deadline is reporting that the mighty O's Oprah Winfrey Network has picked up Rosie O'Donnell's new daytime talk show. Oprah stated,
Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years. She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.

O'Donnell's last stint on daytime tv was back in 2007 when she served as moderator for the ABC chatfest The View, replacing Meredith Vieira.  O'Donnell said,

It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network.  I’m excited to be back on daytime television.

O'Donnell's foray back into daytime is slated for 2011.

Oprah to Give Sarah Ferguson a Talk Show on OWN

We all know the Mighty O has the Midas touch, but can she help rehabilitate Sarah Ferguson’s reputation after a bribery scandal? We’ll find out soon. According to the Daily Mail, Oprah has offered the beleaguered Duchess her own primetime chat show on OWN.

‘Oprah has known Sarah for some time and the Duchess went on Oprah’s show to explain herself after her most recent scandal. Oprah has always been impressed by Sarah’s ability to pick herself up and reinvent herself.
‘She feels Sarah will be someone viewers of her new channel will be able to relate to on many levels – she’s a divorcee, a working mother, someone who has made some very public mistakes and a woman who, like Oprah, constantly battles with her weight.’

HIRE ME, O! Oprah Gives Magazine Staff IPad & 10 GRAND!

Forget Christmas being the time for giving, Oprah decided June's just right for her staffers at O, The Oprah Magazine. To commemorate the magazine's 10-year anniversary, The Mighty O dropped by and gave her staffers a brand new iPad and a check for $10,000 according to Ad Age.  A spokeswoman from Hearst told the site:

These were personal gifts to the staff from Oprah to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the magazine.

Dang, all I got for being at DC was a chipped coffee mug with Luke's name scratched off.
