SNL's Seth Meyers Denies Rumors He's Permanently Replacing Regis on 'Live'

Saturday Night Live head funny bone tickler Seth Meyers is saying not so fast to rumors he'll be permanently sliding in to Regis Philbin's old seat on Live With Kelly. Meyers, who has been co-hosting with Kelly Ripa all this week, addressed the scuttlebutt about him becoming a full-time fixture on the syndicated chatfest with the Sun-Sentinel. Here's an excerpt:

“No, no, no, no, no,” Meyers said by phone from New York on Monday afternoon. “I know [Reege’s replacement] is a very important thing down there. But, right now, what I would say to you: I’m really in love with the job I have. I’m very excited to be going back [to “SNL”] for the election season, which is always fun.” READ MORE

Live With Regis and Kelly Wins Daytime Emmy For Outstanding Talk Show Host!


Way to go out on top, Reege! Live With Regis and Kelly's former dream team Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa won for Outstanding Talk Show Host. This marks Philbin's first win in the category since the show started in 1988. Here's hoping when they finally find a new co-host for Ripa he can hold a candle to Reege.

Regis Philbin to Fill in For Piers Morgan May 29

If you’ve missed seeing Regis Philbin on your TV screens each morning, you’re going to have a chance to see him behind an anchor's desk in primetime. Philbin will be the guest host of Piers Morgan Tonight on May 29. Reege's old friend David Letterman will be his guest, according to the show’s executive producer Jonathan Wald on Twitter.

Regis Philbin is Exploring Return to Primetime

Regis Philbin may have hung up his hat at Live With Regis and Kelly, but don’t count him out just yet. According to the New York Post, Philbin is exploring a primetime talent show.

“We’re contemplating a show that is sort of a talent show, but it involves the whole family,” Philbin told Page Six, adding, “a family competition, which is something new in our business. It’s going to be on prime time when it happens.”
