Will Undeserved Emmy Nods Get Bold and Beautiful Get Back to Basics?

Michael Fairman
spoke with Brad Bell on the heels of The Bold and the Beautiful being nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Drama Series and Best Writing Team. The writer revealed his feelings over sister soap The Young and Restless being snubbed, and previewed storylines for Don Diamont's Bill Spencer and Rick Hearst's Whip Jones, the latter of whom, yours truly broke the news that he was returning to B&B.

MICHAEL FAIRMAN: Were you shocked there were only three nominees in the category?

BRAD BELL: Totally shocked! Maria Arena Bell (head writer and co-executive producer, “Y&R”) sent me a nice email already. It is a shock because “Y&R”, in the ratings, is by far and above the top show. It’s a brilliant show and deserves to be nominated. So, it’s hard to understand. But, it’s great to be nominated and it’s great that a show from each network is represented in the finals, and it’s great for all the networks." READ MORE

General Hospital Spoilers!

Here’s the Scoop! 05.11.09

I’ve been pretty hard on GH lately… I’m sorry but I can’t help it and as far as I’m concerned, they deserve it. When my roommate says “this show sucks” they have some serious problems. Just a year ago she said GH was the best show on TV…

What’s coming up… Michael wakes up and everything seems to center around the Corinthos clan. Michael must deal with losing a year of his life. Kristina becomes the wild child and Morgan SHOULD have an increased role now that they’ve increased his age. I’m hearing that Molly Lansing is also being SORAS’d and she COULD appear before Ric leaves town “with a bang.” READ MORE

Will General Hospital Viewers Follow Rick Hearst to The Bold and the Beautiful?

Something tells me ABC Daytime head honcho Brian Frons will come to seriously regret betting on the wrong horses in terms of whom he values on his flagship soap opera General Hospital. Where is the logic in favoring leading men like Tony Geary and Maurice Benard, who have been tweeting in their scenes for the better part of half a decade, as opposed to a stellar, multi-soap fan favorite like Rick Hearst? At any rate, I know a lot of Hearst fans have been more than ticked over Ric Lansing's lackey status in Port Charles, so it has me wondering, will you guys follow him to The Bold and the Beautiful?

Bold and Beautiful Flashback: Rick Hearst Dons Brooke Logan's Lingerie!

Here's a flashback to Rick Hearst's comedic turn on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hearst played wisecracking PR flack Whip Jones, who married Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) to help the fashionista pass her unborn child off as his, and not the child of Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), who just so happened to be married to Brooke's daughter, Bridget (then-Jennifer Finnigan). Thanks BandBTerry for the clip!
