Ryan Phillippe Wants to Quit Acting

Talk about cruel intentions. Pretty boy Ryan Phillippe—who got his acting start playing the first gay teen in daytime on One Life to Live—recently told The New York Post  he'd like to quit acting to escape the glare of the paparazzi. Said the ex-Mr. Reese Witherspoon:

"It's so hard to go out in LA. I'm going to move. I'm going to spend a third of my year in New York." He said brokers have been showing him places in SoHo and, "I think I'm going to end my acting career. I'm so introverted. I'm ready to be behind the scenes. I'm 36, but I've been doing this for 20 years."

San Francisco Columnist Remembers OLTL's AIDS Quilt

San Francisco Sentinel photojournalist Bill Wilson recently expressed sadness over the loss of One Life to Live.  In 1992 he was working for The Names Project Aids Memorial Quilt, and became an extra when OLTL featured the quilt during its history-making storyline that involved Llanview’s Billy Douglass (Ryan Phillipe).

After going through this experience I gained a new respect for the actors in daytime dramas. It is demanding and challenging work because there is so little time for script memorizing etc. [...] It was a wonderful experience because you knew that you were reaching so many more people with messages of tolerance and understanding that were so much in need.
