What is it about The Young and the Restless that inspires so much "creativity" amongst its alums, when trying to get back on the show? Former Y&R star Thom Bierdz has posted a plea to new showrunner Jill Farren Phelps. In it, the actor, author and artist sings—literally sings—to JFP about the lack of gay love in Genoa City, and how bringing back Phillip Chancellor III could address that. I have one thing to say, and it's this. Thanks, Appelridge for the tip! Take a peek at below.
Former The Young and the Restless’ star Thom Bierdz and All My Children’s Chrishell Stause and Melissa Claire Egan were among the stars who popped up at The Art of Elysium Celebrates Return of Ford Mustang Boss on June 9. The event, which took place at The Residences in West Hollywood, was hosted by Topher Grace and True Blood’s Joe Manganiello. Check out more photos after the jump.
Michael Muhney–pictured with son Dylan and daughter Ella above–was among The Young and the Restless stars who turned out for the opening night gala of 16th Annual Los Angeles Antiques Show on April 13. Out Magazine has published its 100 Most Eligible Bachelors. While You Tube sensation, singer-songwriter Jay Brannon, topped the list, two openly gay daytime actors made the cut as well. Thom Bierdz (Phillip, The Young and the Restless) and Scott Evans (ex-Fish, One Life to Live) came in at number 8 and number 10 respectively. Also making the cut is Glee star and recent Golden-Globe winner Chris Colfer who comes in at number 4. American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is once again runner-up, coming in at number 2. Check out the full list here.
Thom Bierdz (Phillip, The Young and the Restless) has joined the fight against the bullying of gay teenagers by releasing the You Tube clip below. In the MVID, Bierdz reveals how painting helps him deal with the anxieties that gay people can face. He also talked about the American Art Awards, which he helped found, which will be offering a free entry this year for teens. Would that we had writers in daytime right now like Agnes Nixon, who would address the awful prevalence of gay teen suicides in soap opera storylines. In an interview with abOUT Magazine Thom Bierdz discusses his return to The Young and the Restless and the rumor his character Phillip Chancellor III will find himself in a gay relationship.
Rumor has it, Phillip might be finding himself in a relationship in the not-too-distant future. What can you tell us about that?
I would really appreciate fans to write into the show and ask for that. I can’t tell you too much, but I’m not satisfied where things are in relation to that. The more viewers ask for that, the more it might happen. I know they are going to go there. I don’t know how fast they’ll go there.
