Which Soap Should Jacob Young Choose?

Will Jacob Young be heading online with All My Children, or could the in demand actor be returning to one of the two soaps he starred on prior to heading for Pine Valley as Adam Chandler, Jr. aka JR? According to this week's print edition of CBS Soaps In Depth, Young revealed to the zine one of his former soaps has expressed interest in him returning.

Young got his soapy start playing Eric Forrester, Jr. (Rick) on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1997-99, before moving over to General Hospital as Lucky Spencer 2.0 from 2000-03. While I sincerely hope Prospect Park manages to entice Young to continue representing the next generation of the Chandlers as AMC transitions off the ABC airwaves, I totally get an actor needing to go with the best possible option for his career. Whaddya you guys think?

Which of the three soaps Jacob Young has starred on do you want to see him on?

Jacob should stay with All My Children!

OK SO Jamey is still awake. Longest rainy weekend on earth. Glad you bought this up Jamey. He should stay right where he is on AMC.

Stay with AMC, JY. Its been your best role to date.

Jacob Young would be a welcome return to The Bold & the Beautiful as Rick Forrester. To me, Rick has not been an interesting character since Jacob vacated the role; which he never should have done. Plus, considering General Hospital's uncertain future, he should go with the show that could give him more than 12 months employment.

Ive always found him to be one of the most over-rated actors in daytime. So far, Ive only seen him in one pairing where I thought there was definite chemistry and that was with MCE's annie - and lets face it MCE has chem with everyone. He wasnt half bad with babe either but again I give the credit to AH.

Jacob Young should be staying with AMC. He could and would be a big part in the online move. However I think he's going back to B&B.
It's no secret that Jacob loved it over there and even said that he would love to return one day some time ago. With Kyle Lowder gone, I think Bell is considering waiting for Young to take back the part. And honestly, it could be great.
I loved Young's Rick most of the three actors portraying him and for me he comes the closest in being Eric and Brooke's son. AND of course it would be amazing to see an on-screen reunion between him and Adrienne Frantz - if they would allow themselves to finally do a Rick/Amber redo and let Amber grow up in sunny L.A.

If Jacob goes to BB I would be happy for him if this is what he wants. But whoever remembers Greg Vaugh as Lucky from GH, and like him - say a prayer that he takes over the role of JR. He was HOT in my books. That is my idea of HOT.

I think he should stay with AMC. I'd rather have someone from GH we've lost to come back rather than him, Nic perhaps, we're down a handsome Cassadine lately!

I voted he should stay with AMC. I only watched the show for a short bit because of JR and Annie. I think MCE is a great actress, and Jacob is not too bad, but I noticed he tends to overact WAY too much.

IMO Greg Vaughan is too old to play Rick as he was for the role of Lucky. It would be hard watching KKL having an almost 40-year-old son. LOL

As for GH, I don't see him ever being back on that show. The show should try to win others back like Stephen Nichols, who should just please end his awful Y&R stint.

Any soap but AMC. All they have Jacob do is prop useless characters. He should not be treated that way.

ICAM with this. I voted AMC as well. Jannie was my ship, JY and MCE made magic together; but, he does overact. He needs to calm it down sometimes. I know he better not EVER go back to GH. Seeing his face will give me nightmares, even if he isn't playing Lucky *cringes*

I voted AMC as well. That’s the only time I’ve really loved him quite honestly, lol. It was like, JR was HIS role to own. I hated his Lucky. Absolutely hated. I hate Rick on B&B no matter who plays him, so I think AMC would be the best fit. I did love me some Jannie and yeah, they got nothing in the end which, I mean damn, what an effin waste, so… anyway, AMC.

"Overrated"??
He's pretty much the most underrated actor of his generation on soaps. Others mug to the camera & cries and are praised while Jacob works like a horse and truly makes even the most unbearable storyline, watchable....well not even Jacob could make Jarissa watchable but heck Al Pacino couldn't have pulled that one off.

JR is the best character, no doubt about it but I certainly don't want him on AMC if they are just gonna use him to prop useless characters and couples like they've done for so many years.

Rick is not a good character but Jacob is the real Rick IMO & Brad Bell does seem to like him but I would have to shoot myself in the head if he was paired with Adrenne Frantz again.

As for GH there was a casting call for a character that sounded to be tailor made for JY so who knows. I for one hope he doesn't go to GH, it wil be cancelled in a couple of months anyway.

So in conclusion...I have no friggin' clue.
No chance of John Ross on the Dallas reboot being recast?

Hopefully, he stays with AMC. If not, I think Days should nab him for the role of Phillip Kiriakis.

since all AMC does have him prop useless Carey's i say he should return to B&B. At least Brad would let him showcase his talents.

I want him back on B&B. Unless MCE is joining the new AMC and they for sure repair Jannie then fine. Otherwise, send him back to B&B. Rick is desperately needed on the canvas.

he belongs on B&B, i bet 90% of AMC stars will not go online due to a big paycut and it won't be like they had on ABC....online will be cheaper like what GL did in it finals days at peapack, NJ.
He will be back on B&B since I know he would like to go toe the #1 serial in the world and be mostly recognized instead of being on a online web soap. He will be back on B&B and have a big story with Amber Moore! And there been plenty of flashbacks between those two!

And rumours are that Bobbie Easkes is coming back to B&B as Macy Alexander! i want her back with Thorne and that would be some drama with her against Brooke Forrester for what she done to her marriage to Thorne...
Jacob Young & Bobbie easkes will be back on the #1 television serial in the world...over a online show!

I like Jacob Young well enough but I have yet to understand why on earth he is such a hot commodity. I can name 20 other actors in his age range available who are more compelling.

That said I do think he belongs on B&B and they need him. AMC online is uncertain and JR has languished without his father Adam around. He's not a strong enough character to be the patriarch of the Chandlers.

Jacob Young,

There's a GREAT spot next to me in my bed that you can take RIGHT now. No audition necessary. But the pay's not that great. I am sure it will be a steady gig, though.

In all seriousness, he needs to stay on AMC. It's better to get in where you fit in than try to soap hop in today's daytime climate. I am sure he's worried about money, but what these actors need to remember is that they already make FAR more than the typical actor makes, so they shouldn't be so quick to walk away from these paychecks. He has BECOME JR Chandler. B&B is too bloated right now to accommodate him. In fact, they should be trimming MORE fat. GH doesn't need him b/c they already have enough hunky 20/30-something men. Stay put, Jacob. Trust me.

I've enjoyed his work the most on AMC. He seems to "click" with both cast and story here. There always seemed to be something "off" when he played Lucky on GH-he wasn't bad-it just didn't "fit"-like a suit made for someone else, but with different measurements. As for the possibility of him going back to B&B,...eh...I don't think it would be as much a challenge for him...but that's me. Whatever happens I wish him success... Innocent

Evidently this is a moot point-Michael Logan posted an exclusive interview on TVGuide online this morning. Jacob Young is coming back to B&B in September.
