I would love to see the "real" ratings. I really don't believe that Y&R and B&B are the top shows.

^^^They are. WEll at least I believe they are. You would be surprised how many people actually watch especially Y&R.

I put on Facebook about Jeanne Cooper dying, and I was sSOOOOOO surprised by how many people came out of the woodwork and shared my status or inboxed me about it...and admitted that they watch it but they wouldn't admit it to anyone else.

Besides, this site is hardly representative of the soap population. There are, in my very humble opinion, a lot of people who don't watch either show, but rush to click them as "worst soap" as if it will demote them from being top 2 soaps. It's kind of ridiculous. But I strongly believe that Y&R and B&B will be on top til the end. Much the same way GH and OLTL will be on top on this site until the end...

@Sweet_Thing: Web site polls don't reflect the real ratings for a soap opera. They are bias in such that fan bases will come out in droves to vote for their favorite shows. So yes that means based on real ratings stats Y&R and B&B have maintained a dominate run as the number 1 and 2 soap operas of daytime. Days was the only remaining soap to actually pull B&B out of the #2 spot for a week. So that informs us that it can happen. It just all depends on the stories being told and if the audience likes them.

Currently GH has been on a 3 week decline in the ratings. That is not the case for nothing. Also we saw despite online rancor about B&B's Liam/Hope/Steffi storyline last summer that was dominated the airwaves the ratings for B&B were higher than ever.

So you see we might be opinionated viewers who spend time sharing our thoughts online, but that does not represent the silent majority who make or break these series each week.

I have no doubt that some of the people who vote B&B the worst soap every week don't even watch it. And while B&B certainly isn't the strongest or most brilliant soap opera on the air, I don't think it's the worst.
But this really is a matter of opinion and these soap polls don't really say much but the preference of the DC readers maybe.

I voted for OLTL this week because I have to say that I found myself disappointed. Some things are just not handled well. Starting with Victor's return and ending by some major lack of character development by the characters who are front and center.
While I was accepting this the first week, especially since I was happy that OLTL and AMC are back on the air, I didn't want to overlook it in the 2nd week.

The people who watch B&B think it sucks right now. the past few weeks have been totally awful. The writers are rehashing old story lines for different people and have completely crucified characters. If you go on a B&B page, almost everyone is complaining and people are beginning to not watch.

Mitchmon4...not sure who you are but don't speak for me! Stare I'm loving B&B right now and maybe you're not fan but this story but...it is so classic to watch "The Slut of Valley" wiggle around this situation again is WONDERFUL! Big smile Yes it has been done before with Brooke but you know what I appreciate is the classic storyline it's bringing to the canvas.

Have you ever thought this is Brad's point to the viewers..because HE CAN with KKL...just saying Wink

This is the "real" ratings "Sour_Ass"...just because you are a trouble maker and your avatar is "Sabrina" (correct me if wrong) just because you want to always try to "bitch slap" the CBS soaps...hey we can bitch slap back...especially for YR. We might not have as many CBS fans on this site, doesn't mean "the proud, the few, the strong" we are here and (mostly queer)...keep your ass in Port Chuck and us Genoa City denizens will stay in Wisconsin and promise you we won't fly for a visit to NY Evil

We are strong and have been here for over 28 years long as number #1 Wink

Mitchmon...pls speak for yourself. B&B is on fire right now compared to 2011, 2012 and early 2013.

The polls on this site are ridiculous. It's ironical that the worst soap is the most profitable and the most watched lol! I have tried twice to watch GH but it is just too boring

Of the four I watch I ranked (best to worst)

Y and R
B and B
AMC
OLTL

I don't think Dorian's story is worthy of much right now, and for a new viewer it's dragging the show down for me.
