If he wins the role of Christian Grey, former As the World Turns star Billy Magnussen will have hit the big time. According to E!, Magnussen is in the running to replace Charlie Hunnam as the popular male lead in the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation.

Just this morning, I got word that Billy Magnussen is a new contender in the race to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey.

Billy Magnussen is on ‘The Money’


Billy Magnussen has a new gig! The former As the World Turns star has joined the cast of HBO's The Money, according to Deadline.

Billy Magnussen has been cast as a series regular, in the role of Greg Castman — the middle, and favorite, child of mogul/patriarch James Castman (Brendan Gleeson), who wields power and influence to expand his media empire and control his clan.

Soap Alums Cicely Tyson and Judith Light Win Tony Awards



The 67th Annual Tony Awards served up big wins for former soap stars Judith Light and Cicely Tyson on June 9. Light, who portrayed Karen Wolek on One Life to Live, took home Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play. Light appears in The Assembled Parties

Tyson, who played Martha Frazier on Guiding Light, landed the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play award. The actress stars in The Trip to Bountiful.

 As the World Turns alum Billy Magnussen was nominated for his role in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, but lost out to Lucky Guy’s Courtney B. Vance.

Billy Magnussen Debuts as Sigourney Weaver’s Boy Toy in ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’


Have you missed seeing Billy Magnussen (pictured above with co-star David Hyde Pierce) and his ripped body since As the World Turns ended its run? If so, now is your chance to see him strip to his skivvies once again during the run of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre.

Magnussen plays Masha’s (Sigourney Weaver) boy toy Spike, who has a propensity for abandoning most of his clothes, in the play that opened November 12.

Life gets temporarily upended when Masha unexpectedly shows up one day – with decades-younger boy-toy Spike in tow (the extraordinarily fit and often semi-dressed Billy Magnussen). She has returned ostensibly to attend a neighbor's costume ball, but also to deliver the shocking news that she has decided to sell the family homestead in order to cut down on her own expenses.
