Bob Guza’s Last General Hospital Writing Team Wins WGA Award

Former General Hospital scribe Bob Guza is having the last laugh on ABC for replacing him with Garin "Woman In White" Wolf. This past Saturday, Guza, along with writers Nathan Fissell, David Goldschmid, Karen Harris, Elizabeth Korte, Mary Sue Price, Susan Wald, Tracey Thomson, Meg Bennett (Guza's wife) and former GH-turned-The Bold and the Beautiful writer Michele Val Jean, took home the Writers Guild of America (WGA) award for daytime drama series writing.

How General Hospital Ruined The Legacy of Robin’s Groundbreaking HIV Saga in One Episode

Disgusting and depraved are generally not words you would ever think to use in a sentence concerning anything associated with beloved General Hospital heroine Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough).Today's episode of GH, however, was quite possibly the most horrifying, unnerving hour of daytime television I've ever witnessed — and not in a good way. Viewers tuning in for a little love in the afternoon were instead treated to Robin and her husband Patrick (Jason Thompson) being terrorized by a psychotic Lisa (Brianna Brown), wielding a needle filled with Robin's HIV positive blood.

Tristan Rogers Weighs in on Bob Guza’s Legacy And Demise of ABC Daytime

Former General Hospital star Tristan Rogers is weighing in on Bob Guza’s firing at General Hospital. In a must read post on his website,, Rogers gives his take on Guza's legacy and those who have contributed to demise of ABC Daytime.
Many things have been said regarding Bob’s writing some of them fair and some of them less so. Let’s have a look at what will probably be regarded as his legacy. We have a “mob influenced storyline” and the fact that he had little respect for women. And then there’s the systematic dismantling of most of General Hospitals legacy, including that of Luke and Laura, to be replaced by the noble deeds and example set by a bunch of “bargain basement criminals”. I am sure I will get some flack for that statement but the fact remains that whatever thoughts, you the fan harbor in your mind and heart about this relationship the show itself has done everything possible to trash and disassemble it. I don’t think there’s any legacy or standard on GH that has been untouched, in some way, by this wholesale “story slaughter”.

BREAKING NEWS: Bob Guza OUT at General Hospital; Scabber Garin Wolf IN!

According to ABC Soaps In Depth, General Hospital head writer and show consultant Bob Guza has been let go. No, I'm not drunk blogging. The magazine tweeted Guza will be replaced by Garin Wolf, who infamously went financial core status during the 2007-2008 Writers Strike, when Guza and other scribes were on the picket lines, fighting for the rights of all writers.  I know Guza isn't particulary a fan fave these days, but to replace him with a scabber? Lord in the morning...

GH’s Bob Guza Dishes Franco’s Return and Sonny/Brenda’s Wedding

Seems like Franco (James Franco) is also targeting mobster Sonny (Maurice Benard) and supermodel/philanthropist Brenda (Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo)'s upcoming wedding. General Hospital head writer, Bob Guza, dished to TV Guide's Michael Logan the crazy serial killer and sometimes artist will make waves for Port Charles' "it" couple. Guza stated:
You'll know his character is somehow associated with what happens at the wedding, but just how he's connected won't be immediately revealed.

Will GH’s Brenda Barrett Bring a Little, Dimpled Surprise Back to Port Charles With Her or Not?

TV Guide's  Michael Logan chatted with General Hospital's head writer Bob Guza about ABC daytime's most anticipated return, that of Vanessa Marcil. Guza gives the skinny on how long Brenda will hang her hat in Port Charles.

Let's clarify. You were quoted at the Daytime Emmys saying you have Vanessa for two years, but since then there's been conflicting word on that. What's the deal?

Bob Guza: We have Vanessa for at least a year and she and I have talked about going longer. I don't want people to think this is some six week in-and-out. Brenda will be heavily involved with all the characters she had important relationships with, especially Sonny [Maurice Benard], Jax [Ingo Rademacher], Jason [Steve Burton] and Robin [Kimberly McCullough]. I don't want people to think this is just a Brenda-Sonny story. If there was ever a time when Sonny really needs Brenda, this would be it, but all three of her romances will be revisited.
