Top 5 Bad-Ass Women of Summer TV

No. 5: Angie Hubbard, All My Children

Debbi Morgan’s return to Pine Valley as Angie, with the relaunch of All My Children, has nearly erased all memory of the YoHarmony debacle on The Young and the Restless. This summer we watched as Angie searched for answers in her daughter’s kidnapping. We saw her grapple with the awful truth of Cassandra’s (Saleisha Stowers) rape and drugging when her beloved daughter was returned to her arms.

However, it was this week’s episodes—where Angie poured out her soul over the swirl of conflicting emotions regarding Cassandra’s desire to end the pregnancy—that gripped me most of all. It was easily one of the most emotional, bad-ass performances of the summer. Angie broke it down.

Jesse Does What it Takes to Get Cassandra Back on All My Children

Jesse (Darnell Williams) questioned the girls they found at the underground whorehouse. They said they didn’t know where Cassandra (Saleisha Stowers) had been taken. Jesse broke down as he begged them to tell him any little thing they might know. Billy Clyde Tuggle (Matthew Cowles) lurked about, and Jesse questioned his presence at the whorehouse.

SPOILERS: Jesse Makes a Deal With a Russian Devil to Save Cassandra on All My Children!

All My Children's Jesse Hubbard (Darnell Williams) just can't seem to get a handle on this co-parenting thing. First he misses out on Frankie's formative years, due to that whole, pesky, presumed death business. Then he neglects to tell Angie (Debbi Morgan) he fathered a daughter with another woman during said presumptive death.

No sooner than the Mrs. got past all of that, did this fool lie to Angie about their baby daughter dying and switching the deceased brat with some other tyke!

To be fair, Jesse was only trying to surprise his beloved by flying her adopted daughter Cassandra (Sal Stowers) home from Paris. The problem is, instead of netting some serious frequent flyer miles, Cassie wound up sold as a sex slave!

The week of June 10, Jesse will do the unthinkable to bring Cassandra home safe. Will the pact he makes with Russian money launderer and sex trafficker Uri (Martin Harvey) blow up in the cop's face?
