Revenge Showrunner on Why [SPOILER] Had to Die in Game-Changing Season Finale

SPOILER ALERT: It was an eye for an eye, a hunk for a hunk Sunday night on the Season 3 finale of Revenge. To pay back Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) for her role in Pascal's (Oliver Martinez) demise, Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) killed Emily's henchman/lover Aiden (Barry Sloane)!

Showrunner Sunil Nayar shared why Aiden had to die with The Hollywood Reporter. Said Nayar:

Clearing her father's name ends a bit of Emily's revenge strategy, but [killing Aiden renews her quest] for revenge in a very present sense. She was a girl when her father was taken away, but this gives us a fresh sense of revenge, and the audience gets to feel it in the moment. When you watch what happens [to Aiden], it's horrifying and devastating and allows the audience into the mindset of someone who wants revenge. She can't believe [Victoria] killed Aiden, and she wants her to die and suffer.

INTERVIEW: Revenge Star Henry Czerny on Patriarch’s Endgame — “Conrad Ends Up as Eckhart Tolle”

Henry Czerny is well-versed in the art of Revenge. As patriarch of the dysfunctional Grayson clan on the hit ABC sudser, the formally-trained Canadian actor gives just as good as he gets, when Conrad faces off against malevolent wife Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) and/or diabolical daughter-in-law Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp).

I recently caught up with Czerny at TCA. He shared how the Graysons will continue to contend with Emily, now that she's under their roof. He also offers insight into Conrad's goals for his children and reveals which self-help guru he hopes his character eventually takes after.

Daytime Confidential: It seems like the Graysons have Emily where they want her. Now that she is in their house and has lied for them that Lydia shot her, how else are they going to torture her?

Henry Czerny: By living. The Graysons are going to torture Emily by somehow continuing on with their lives as despicable and dysfunctional as they are. That’s what’s going to continue. Emily’s going to get out of some stuff and get into some stuff, as one does when one goes for revenge. At the very beginning, Mike Kelley put on his description for the series for the first episode a Confucios saying, "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." In our pursuit of something we believe should happen, we have to get dirty in a way that the other people against us got dirty.

TCA SCOOP: Revenge Hunk Barry Sloane on Aiden and Emily: “He Loves Her to The Point of Obsession”

Revenge fans will have to wait until March to watch the next episode of the show. Fortunately Barry Sloane, who plays Aiden, shared some scoop on his character’s tortured romance with Emily (Emily VanCamp), his almost-bromance with Jack (Nick Wechsler) and Nolan (Gabriel Mann) and whether the primetime soap will get steamier when it moves to 10 pm EST.

Daytime Confidential: Emily gave Aiden the heave ho. Do you think she really loves him deep down, or does she love revenge more than she could ever love a man?

Barry Sloane: I think she went through quite a trauma finding out that she couldn’t have children and what you’re going to see in the next episodes is something’s not quite right and that’s all I can say. The break-up came out of the blue and that’s how Aiden took it, I don’t understand where this is coming from, and the next few episodes shed some light on that.

Will The Graysons Finish Emily Off on Revenge? (SNEAK PEEK)

Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) has her daughter-in-law right where she wants her tonight on Revenge. Will Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) regain her memories about the night of her shooting, in time to turn the tables of Daniel (Joshua Bowman) and her monster-in-law? Watch a sneak peek of tonight's episode of Revenge after the jump!

Emily Thorne is Singing “Forget-Me-Nots” Tonight on Revenge (SNEAK PEEK)

Ah, retrograde amnesia. No soap opera is truly complete without this tried-and-true plot device! Tonight on an all-new episode of Revenge, Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) doesn't have a clue who she really is.

I can't help but wonder if Ems is running game on Daniel (Josh Bowman). He did plug her on their honeymoon after all. I'd be yelping "Who am I? Where am I?" too, if I woke up and saw his murderous behind standing over me!

Do you think the newest Mrs. Grayson is faking it, or is she truly suffering from memory loss? Check out a sneak peek of tonight's Revenge, then sound off in the comments!

Justin Hartley on Revenge Character: “He Will Do Anything For His Mother”

Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) better watch her back. She just might have a new adversary to worry about when Revenge returns for Season 3 this Sept. 29.

Patrick Osbourne, the long-lost son of ice queen Victoria (Madeline Stowe), is headed for the Hamptons in the form of Passions alum Justin Hartley. Here's what the hunk revealed to TV Guide Magazine about Patrick:
Suffice it to say, he will do anything for his mother and may lash out if you mistreat Mommy.

Should Emily Thorne Start Wearing Bullet-Proof Bustiers on Revenge? (PROMO)

Season 2 of ABC's formerly-addictive primetime sudser Revenge was a stank-hot mess. There were so many convoluted, disconnected story arcs going at the same time, I needed a Dramamine drip, protractor and slide rule just to keep up.

The Initiative is behind it all! Nolan likes girls! Nolan likes boys! Takeda is an all-knowing sage! Takeda is an evil do-badder!

Here's hoping new showrunner Sunil Nayar makes good on those promises to shape this show up, when it returns Sept. 29 on ABC. From the looks of the first promo for Season 3, Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) might want to invest in bridal kevlar. Watch the video after the jump!
