Kelly Rutherford Files For Bankruptcy Following Costly Divorce

This is a sad tale. Generations, Melrose Place and Gossip Girl alum Kelly Rutherford has reportedly filed for bankruptcy. According to TMZ, the blonde beauty's divorce and custody fight with ex-husband, Daniel Giersch is what has left her over $2 million in debt, with less than $24,000 in assets. From the article:

Here's the problem -- she spent nearly $1.5 mil on legal fees for her bitter divorce/custody war with ex-hubby Daniel Giersch.  We've learned she's asking the family law judge to make him pay, but now she's waving the white flag by filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Gossip Girl Spin-Off is Happening

Despite previous reports that a spin-off of the popular show Gossip Girl was not happening ( I like to call it spin ), now comes word that a spin-off is indeed coming to The CW.

After months of gossip and speculation, "Gossip" creators/executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are proceeding with a spinoff that will serve as a prequel to the hot sophomore drama and chronicle the wild teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

The network has ordered a "backdoor pilot" for the project, which will air as a "Gossip" episode May 11.

Fans will see a young Lily leaving her home in New York City and all the benefits of her wealthy family. Lily heads to the bright lights of Hollywood where she'll bunk with her sister and meet a wanna be rocker named Rufus Humphrey.

Gossip Girl Heading for Divorce Court

E! Online is reporting that Kelly Rutherford (ex-Stephanie, Generations and current Gossip Girl) has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Daniel Giersch. According to the article, the divorce was not hinted at last month and the couple was preparing their 2-year-old son for the arrival of a new family member (Rutherford is expecting their second child). She cited "irreconcilable differences".
