The Scandal Effect: Networks Add Multiple D.C.-Set Dramas

ABC’s Scandal is arguably one of the biggest political dramas to hit network television in years. Its success has prompted other networks to jump onto the political drama-with-a-female-lead bandwagon. It’s being called The Scandal Effect.

For the fall of 2014, NBC and CBS are set to premiere two Washington D.C. dramas entitled State and Affairs and Madam Secretary respectively.

13 Soap Opera Sobbers Who Have Perfected The Oprah Ugly Cry

No. 13: Kelly Monaco, General Hospital

It's a good thing Frank Valentini is excellent at managing General Hospital's budget, otherwise ABC's last remaining soap might have gone broke from buying Kleenex for the character of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)! Sam hasn't had many opportunities to turn on the water works lately. She's too busy being happy with Dr. Silas Clay (Michael Easton), but if and when she learns Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is off trying to save Jason, Port Charles, New York will once again be under a flood warning.

Kerry Washington on Scandal’s Season 3 Finale: “A Definite Game-Changer”

Election Day madness is upon us tonight on the season finale of ABC's Scandal. Last episode, Cyrus (Jeff Perry) learned Sally Langston (Kate Burton), Leo (Paul Adelstein) and Andrew (Jon Tenney), are all at a funeral. Did I forget to mention a ticking bomb is the guest of honor, courtesy of Maya (Khandi Alexander)?

What exactly can "Gladiators" expect when the bomb goes off? Olivia Pope herself, Kerry Washington, dished to The Hollywood Reporter. Here's an excerpt:
THR: Sally, Andrew, Leo and more are all at the senator's funeral. How deadly can we expect the explosion to be and how will it impact the election?

Washington: The explosion has huge impact on the election, but I can't say more than that. It's a definite game-changer.

A Chupacabra Saves Kerry Washington in Season Finale of Jimmy’s Kimmel’s Scandal Spoof (VIDEO)

As a Texan, I am glad to see El Chupacabra finally getting the popular culture buzz the gnarly beast so richly deserves! First, ABC Daytime's General Hospital utilized the mythical monster to frighten small children on an island estate. Now, the goat-sucking cryptid is being used to save Mouse House damsels in late night television distress.

In the season finale of Jimmy Kimmel Live's Scandal-themed telenovela "Escandalo", President Guillermo Rodriguez and fixer Kerry Washington face certain doom, until a last minute reprieve. Check out the entire run of "Escandalo" after the jump!
