Webisoaps Compete For Daytime Emmys!

Let's hear it for our beloved web sudsers! When we thought the daytime soap opera was about to go the way of the dodo bird, a slew of webisoaps began to pop up, generally created by a band of bootstrapping entrepreneurs, with lots of love for the art form.

This year, NATAS recognized several of the webisoaps we cover. Venice, Tainted Dreams and DeVanity will compete in the Outstanding New Approaches – Drama Series category; alongside The Power Inside.

Lauralee Bell’s mI promise Honored by Webby Awards

Bill Bell is smiling down from Soap Heaven this morning. His talented daughter Lauralee Bell continues to make impressive strides with her online programming. The writer/actress/producer's powerful texting-and-driving web soap, mI promise, has received an honorary Webby Award

"I am so proud that mI promise has impressed the selection committee for the Webby Awards," said Bell. "That's the icing on the cake for our mI promise team. Our entire goal was to reach teens, pre-teens and adults about what can happen when you text and drive at the same time. If we've helped to make people consider the consequences by providing a dramatic example, then we accomplished what we set out to do."
