Alpha House—the Amazon comedy starring Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children), John Goodman,  Matt Malloy, Clark Johnson and featuring former General Hospital favorite Ted King—is getting a dose of real-world politics. According to Politico, former New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner will appear in the season finale as himself.

What do your significant others — Kelly's husband, Mark Consuelos, and Michael's fiancée, Nicole Murphy — think of this TV marriage?

Ripa: Are you kidding? If there's anyone my husband loves more than me, it's Michael Strahan! No matter what we discuss on the show, Mark will always take Michael's side.

Strahan: And Nicole really adores Kelly. Plus, she's so grateful to her for taking on some of the pressure of having me around.

How's this for six degrees of soap-eration? Deadline is reporting All My Children alums Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are producing a new "mom comedy" from General Hospital: Night Shift scribe Sri Rao. Here's a description of the project from Deadline:

 [The project] centers on a free-spirited single mom who’s raising two kids in Brooklyn and running a small design company with three of her best friends. Things take a turn when her conservative 16-year-old son starts interning at her company, intent on transforming the family business into a global empire.

Amazon Picks Up Mark Consuelos’ Alpha House

Remember how Amazon Studios offered pilots online for viewers to watch and review, before making a decision on which series to pick up? Well, it looks like Amazon has taken viewer feedback and made its choices.

Amazon Studios has picked up  Washing D.C.-based Alpha House starring Mark Consuelos, John Goodman, Clark Johnson and Matt Malloy. Former One Life to Live and General Hospital star Ted King also appears in the pilot.

Mark Consuelos’ Alpha House Pilot Debuts on Amazon

Amazon isn’t waiting for upfronts to release the pilots for eight comedies and six children’s series. According to Variety, Amazon Studios will let consumers help determine which shows get picked up.

Ranging from the Washington D.C. based Alpha House, starring All My Children grad Mark Consuelos, John Goodman, Matt Malloy and Clark Johnson as politicians, to a TV version of Zombieland there is a something for everyone. 

“Alpha House” – Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau, “Alpha House” is a live-action comedy about four Republican senators (John Goodman, Matt Malloy, Clark Johnson and Mark Consuelos) who live together in a Washington D.C. townhouse. Veteran TV helmer Adam Bernstein directed the pilot, featuring cameos from Bill Murray and Stephen Colbert.

Former General Hospital star Ted King appears in the pilot as a tea party candidate trying to unseat Mark Malloy’s Louis Laffer.

Mark Consuelos Goes to Washington in Alpha House Pilot

Former All My Children star Mark Consuelos is headed to Washington D.C. According to Deadline, Consuelos has signed on to Amazon Studios’ comedy pilot Alpha House opposite of John Goodman. Reportedly,

Alpha House follows four senators who live together in a rented house in Washington DC. Consuelos will play one of them, Andy Guzman, a young, handsome, confident Senator with an excess of charm & swagger. An irresistible rogue. Goodman plays another Senator.
