25 Totally Innocent-Yet-Oddly-Inappropriate Soap Scenes

While the old adage tells us "a picture is worth a thousand words", sometimes context is equally important. Soap operas crank out episodes 52 weeks a year, so it's no surprise sometimes even the most innocent scenes can end up seeming oddly inappropriate.

For example, if you never watched One Life to Live you might raise an eyebrow wondering what exactly Tea (Florencia Lozano) and Victor (Trevor St. John) were up to in the scene above.

Here are 25 Totally Innocent-Yet-Oddly-Inappropriate Soap Opera Scenes we found in the Daytime Confidential archives.

Peter Reckell Speaks Out on Soap Rumors

Sorry Bo fans, Salem’s reformed bad boy isn’t returning home. Rumors have been swirling across the Internet Peter Reckell was heading back to Days of Our Lives, after leaving the show a year ago. There's also been buzz about him heading to General Hospital. Neither is the case, according to Reckell, who took to Twitter to clear up confusions fans had about DAYS and other soaps. Reckell tweeted:

Why Hope Needs to Let Vargas Break Her Back on Days of Our Lives

There may be no greater task in soapdom than existing as the remaining half of a mega popular supercouple. As a rule, fans have a hard time seeing characters that represent 50 percent of a beloved squish name moving on. What generally happens when one half of a famed pairing leaves the show, is their former screen partner is either left dwindling in the fictional winds, or paired off with someone else with little forethought (Remember Days of Our Lives' Kayla and Shane?)

As the ultimate fan of DAYS' Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso)—this used to be my cellphone ringtone—I've held out hope that TPTB would come to terms with Reckell, so that Beauregard could finally come downstairs from tucking Ciara in bed, or wherever he is, and reunite with his Fancy Face. Since that doesn't appear to be happening any time soon, I have come to the bittersweet realization that it's time for my fav-o-rite Salem, U.S.A. heroine to move on with her soap operatic life.

Marlena’s Paranoia Kicks Into Overdrive on Days of Our Lives

Sonny’s (Freddie Smith) coffee shop once again proved to be Salem’s hot spot to bump into people. Marlena (Deidre Hall) ran into Dr. Patel and wanted to schedule a few appointments. However, Dr. Patel said she was about to meet with someone. As they talked, the person arrived and it was none other than Kristen (Eileen Davidson).

Marlena’s paranoia immediately kicked in. She accused Kristen of learning her therapist’s identity to possibly use it against her somehow. Kristen denied Marlena's allegations, but Marlena insisted she was lying.
