Days of Our Lives Snags GLAAD Nomination


WilSon will be getting a little same sex love at this year's GLAAD Media Awards. Days of Our Lives was the only sudser nominated in Outstanding Daily Drama category for the organization's 25th annual feting.

The Fosters, Grey's Anatomy, Orphan Black, Pretty Little Liars and Shameless will face off in the Outstanding Drama Series competition. While those chatty Cathys from The Ricki Lake Show, Oprah's Next Chapter, Ellen, Raising McCain and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell will face off in the Outstanding Talk Show Episode category. 

Ricki Lake Wins Outstanding Talk Show Host!


90's talk show maven, Ricki Lake, caused quite the upset when she carted home the Oustanding Talk Show Host golden lady at the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Lake, returned to the syndicated television talk show arena earlier this year, after ending her original series in 2004, but her show was given the axe after only one season on air.

Ricki Lake’s Comeback Talk Show Gets The AXE!


Say goodbye to The Ricki Lake Show — again. Twentieth Television announced the talk show will not receive a second season pick up for 2013-2014. Stephen Brown, executive vice-president of programming, said in a released statement:
We would like to thank Ricki Lake as well as executive producer Gail Steinberg and the entire staff for their work this season. While we are proud of the topics the program tackled including childhood obesity, life-after the military, divorce, and addiction we were simply not able to breakthrough the crowded talk show marketplace.

‘Maury’ Leading Syndie Talk Shows Among W25-54


Forget all the buzz about new talk shows from Katie Couric, Ricki Lake and Steve Harvey. Veteran trash TV talker Maury Povich is proving he’s still got game!

According to TV Week, Maury led all talk shows the week of September 17, among women 25-54, with a 1.7 rating in the demo, up from 1.4 last season. Among households, Dr. Phil leads the pack with a 3.1 average this season, followed by Live with Kelly and Michael at 2.6.

Showrunner From 90’s Rick Lake Talk Show Takes Over at New Chatfest


The Ricki Lake Show may still be brand new, but drastic changes are already being made behind the scenes. According to Deadline, executive producer Lisa Kridos is leaving the program. Kridos will reportedly go to work at distributor Twentieth Television as a programming and development producer. Gail Steinberg—showrunner for the original Ricki Lake— has taken over.

“Gail will usher in a fresh perspective bringing in an added relevancy, fun and energy to each episode, while showcasing compelling viewpoints to the female focused topics that remain at the core of the new Ricki Lake Show,” Twentieth EVP Programming and Development Stephen Brown said.

The first promo for Ricki Lake's new talk show has been released. In it, the daytime talk returnee teases the topics viewers can expect to see explored and shares her desire to reconnect with her audience.
