Wishful Casting: Tuc Watkins and Josh Kelly as Phillip III and Chance on The Young and the Restless

With One Life to Live "shelved", several of the soap's biggest stars are likely looking for work. While I don't think any of the existing network daytime suds should go on a casting spree akin to Maria Arena Bell flying low over the carcasses of the ABC Daytime version of All My Children a few years back, I do think several suds roles could be smartly filled with OLTL vets. For starters, imagine the hilarious dose of brazen sexuality and bon vivant energy Tuc Watkins would inject into the role of Phillip Chancellor III on The Young and the Restless.

Get ready to finally say goodbye to Genoa City’s no-nonsense, grand dame, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). On Sept. 3 and 4,The Young and the Restless will broadcast Kay’s memorial.

Several fan favorites will return to take part in the highly-anticipated episodes, reports TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan. Lauralee Bell (Cricket), Tricia Cast, (Nina), Michael Damian (Danny), Adrienne Frantz (Amber), Patty Weaver (Gina) and Beau Kazer (Brock) will all be on hand, along with Cooper’s real-life son Corbin Bernsen portraying Father Todd, who will officiate the funeral.

Showrunner Jill Farren Phelps stated:
Katherine knew she was dying and made it clear she didn't want a sad event where everyone wore black and was miserable. She wanted a celebration and that's exactly what she's getting.

The Young and the Restless Honors Jeanne Cooper’s Memory (PHOTOS)

The Young and the Restless aired a touching tribute to Genoa City’s grande dame Jeanne Cooper and her iconic character Katherine Chancellor on Tuesday. The special episode brought together Cooper’s family and co-stars, who shared the impact she had on their lives.

From stories of Cooper pinching the butts of her younger, male co-stars, to heartfelt memories, the tribute featured laughter and more than a few tears. Check out photos from The Young and the Restless’ tribute to Jeanne Cooper after the jump!

DC’s Top 10 Female Entertainers of 2012

No. 10: Erika Slezak, One Life to Live

She only had a few precious weeks to entertain us in 2012, as One Life to Live ended its network television run early last January. Erika Slezak definitely made the most of her time. As Viki Lord dealt with the return of one of her deadliest foes, Alison Perkins (Barbara Garrick), and admitted that she still loved ex-husband Clint Buchanan (Jerry verDorn), Slezak displayed the same above reproach acting chops that made her a Daytime Emmy darling.

The woman who gave us Niki Smith also proved she could still be quite hilarious, portraying a highly-reactionary foreign maid during the Fraternity Row soap-within-a-soap arc. With OLTL possibly returning, we just might be putting Slezak on our "Best" lists for years to come.
