25 Totally Innocent-Yet-Oddly-Inappropriate Soap Scenes

While the old adage tells us "a picture is worth a thousand words", sometimes context is equally important. Soap operas crank out episodes 52 weeks a year, so it's no surprise sometimes even the most innocent scenes can end up seeming oddly inappropriate.

For example, if you never watched One Life to Live you might raise an eyebrow wondering what exactly Tea (Florencia Lozano) and Victor (Trevor St. John) were up to in the scene above.

Here are 25 Totally Innocent-Yet-Oddly-Inappropriate Soap Opera Scenes we found in the Daytime Confidential archives.

Colleen Zenk, Van Hansis, Alicia Minshew and More Snag Indie Series Award Nominations

Many of our favorite current and former daytime soapers have been keeping busy on the web, and now they have Indie Series Award (ISA) nominations to show for it! Former As The World Turns stars Van Hansis (EastSiders) and Colleen Zenk (Thurston) both received lead acting nods for their work in web dramas, as did All My Children alum Alicia Minshew (Tainted Dreams).

Former Days of Our Lives cuties Jillian Clare (Clutch) and Kyle Lowder (DeVanity) picked up supporting nods, while AMC legend Walt Willey (Thurston), multi-soap vet Gordon Thompson (DeVanity), Melrose Place alum Traci Lords (EastSiders) and Dallas scene stealer Charlene Tilton (DeVanity) were all recognized for their guest spots on web sudsers in 2013. LogoTV.com Picks Up ‘EastSiders’, Gay Comedy Starring Van Hansis

We may never know if Luke and Noah made it to happily ever after on As The World Turns, but Van Hansis' latest same-sex project has been shown some major love! LogoTV.com has picked up the rights to EastSiders, a dramedy starring Hansis, which explores how infidelity impacts a young gay couple.

From the synopsis:

When Cal (Kit Williamson) finds out Thom (Van Hansis) has been cheating on him with Jeremy (Matthew McKelligon), their relationship is turned upside down. Will the lies tear them apart or are they just stubborn enough to stay together forever?

Sounds soapy!

Van Hansis Goes To “Psych”

Seems like Van Hansis isn't slowing down these days. CBS Soaps In Depth is reporting the As The World Turns alum will guest star on Psych. Hansis will play the brother of  Marlowe (Kristy Swanson), who Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) suspect is a murderer. Corey Feldman will also guest star in the episode.  Hansis' ep is slated for Oct. 26.

Psych airs Weds at 10 pm EST on USA.

Wishful Casting: Van Hansis as General Hospital’s Lucas, Paired With Dr. Matt Hunter

Those of you who follow me on Twitter know I started calling for As The World TurnsVan Hansis (ex-Luke) to join General Hospital as Carly's (Laura Wright) gay, little brother Lucas since shortly before the World stopped turning. I planned to post it as part of a complete Wishful Casting for the cast of ATWT, however those enterprising ex-Oakdalers are finding jobs at a much faster rate than I can formulate ideas, and/or soaps to place them on, so I decided to divide them up and begin posting them starting today. I don't know about you guys, but I  think Hansis would be a nice addition to GH's younger cast as Lucas Stansbury Jones, the adopted son of Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) and the late Dr. Tony Jones (Brad Maule).

Promo: The End of The “World” as We Know It.

On the last week of As the World Turns Noah (Jake Silbermann) tells Luke (Van Hansis) that he'll wait for him, Kim (Kathryn Hays) supports her husband Bob (Don Hastings) when he retires as chief of staff, Carly (Maura West) and Jack (Michael Park) get married and Dusty (Grayson McCouch) is there for Janet (Julie Pinson) when she's about to give birth to her baby. Watch the promo after the jump.
