Will SOAPnet Pick Up One Tree Hill?

Melrose Place is as good as canned, but could One Tree Hill be headed for SOAPnet if The CW doesn't renew it? According to Spoiler TV it may just happen.

One Tree Hill: There are some messy contracts and negotiations and it could go either way but even if renewed it will likely have budget cuts and maybe lose more cast members and producers. SOAPnet has the option of renewing it if the CW were to cancel it.

Fans can reportedly expect official renewal announcements for Gossip Girl, 90210, Smallville, Supernatural, America's Next Top Model and The Vampire Diaries later this month.

Suzanne Rogers "Stunned" by the Decision to Kill off Mickey on DAYS

In an interview with TV Guide Magazine Suzanne Rogers reveals she was stunned by Days of our Lives' decision to kill off Maggie's husband Mickey .

Let’s clear up a couple of things. What was the point of having Mickey drop dead?

I was stunned by that decision. They didn’t want to recast the role, so they needed to tie up that loose end. In the scripts, we kept talking about Mickey being out of town, or being in trial. He was always somewhere else. The audience that’s watched us a while knew who Mickey was, but the new viewers didn’t know who the devil we were talking about. It was hard, because John Clarke [the original Mickey] is still very much alive and well. I called him and said “I hope I do you proud.” There was one good thing about it—we could use those great old Mickey-and-Maggie flashbacks, because in later years when they recast the role with John Ingle, and then Kevin Dobson, we couldn’t go back and use any of my scenes with John. By removing the character from the page, we were able to go into the archives and pull out some really glorious stuff.

Jillian's Days of our Lives Spoilers

Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie: Stephanie gets a letter from Melanie who asks her to deliver it to Nathan. While at the hospital, Stephanie reads the letter and is livid at its content. In the letter Melanie confesses her love for Nathan. Later, Steph comes upon Nathan, who is three sheets to the wind and ready to tell Melanie he loves her. When she brings up Melanie, he shuts Steph down and says he doesn't want to know anything about Melanie. Stephanie decides not to give Nathan the letter. Steph is conflicted but at the same time feels justified in her actions since Melanie slept with Phillip and ruined any chance of them getting back together. READ MORE

DAYS Flashback: Goodbye Alice

Goodbye Alice. Let’s reflect and remember Frances Reid bringing the character of Alice Grayson Horton to our television sets for over 40 years and who passed away on February 3. Reid’s portrayal of the Horton matriarch Alice was the cornerstone of Days of our Lives, the pillar of the Horton family and the face of Salem.

On a personal level, I was saddened to hear the news when it broke across the daytime industry. I was overwhelmed with a sudden feeling of loss, a piece of my very own personal memory from my favourite soap on television now gone. Alice’s early life in 1965 Salem revolved around her five children, Addie (who in 1974 was killed), Mickey, Bill, Marie (who became a nun) and Tommy (who had been presumed dead in Vietnam). Alice was our donut queen, the beloved grandmother to many, including Hope Williams, Jennifer, Mike and Melissa Horton. Alice also shared a special bond with Addie’s two daughters, Hope and Julie and Mickey’s widow, Maggie Simmons Horton. READ MORE
