10 Best Female Soap Opera Entertainers of 2013

No. 10: Elizabeth Hendrickson, The Young and the Restless

Spunky fashionista Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) had more to obsess over in 2013, than whether or not a belt was on trend. When Chloe's daughter Delia died following a hit-and-run accident, Hendrickson came to life, portraying Chloe's rage at irresponsible ex-husband and baby daddy Billy Abbott (Billy Miller).

Hendrickson broke our hearts as Chloe struggled to get through each day. When she made the decision to donate her daughter's corneas to the ailing son of her best friend, Hendrickson skillfully revealed her character's agony. We weren't big fans of this ugly storyline overall, but there's no denying Hendrickson did beautiful work.

No. 10: William deVry, General Hospital

Storm Logan, who? Michael Cambias is so 2003. Hello, Julian Jerome! William deVry returned to soaps in 2013 as the latest General Hospital mob boss to challenge Sonny's (Maurice Benard) grip on Port Charles. He did so with swagger and charm.

The handsome actor sold Julian's concern for his secret grandson Danny and his mother, Sam (Kelly Monaco), the product of a one-night stand Julian had with a teenage Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). He also masterfully drove home Julian's ruthless side, as he schemed to reclaim the city with his diabolical sister Ava (Maura West). With the mob war heating up, another secret offspring on his way home and Julian's unfinished business with Alexis, we can't wait to see what 2014 holds for The Talented Mr. deVry. READ MORE

10 Worst Soap Opera Couples of 2013

No. 10: Daniel and Jennifer, Day of Our Lives

Salem U.S.A. was jam-packed with couples we couldn't get enough of in 2013. Unfortunately, not even the heat of EJami, the forbidden affections of Rate or the tainted love of Bristen could fully distract us from the continuing disaster that is Dannifer.

We like the characters of Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) and Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) perfectly fine — when they're apart. But when they're in scenes together, attempting to create chemistry and angst where there's none, we reach for the remote. READ MORE

No. 10: Victor and Tea, One Life to Live

It was the reunion Victor (Trevor St. John) and Tea (Florencia Lozano) fans had been waiting for and boy did the popular One Life to Live couple deliver. While the rest of Llanview—including Victor's sister Viki (Erika Slezak)—may have had "Eh, what's the big deal?" reactions to Victor being alive, that wasn't the case for Tea.

From the moment he showed up at Llanview Hospital, every ounce of Victor and Tea's chemistry was reawakened. Yes, Victor and Tea's storyline suffered mightily throughout the course Prospect Park's reboot, but  the intensity of their emotional connection never wavered. READ MORE

10 Worst Soap Opera Storylines of 2013

No. 10: Room 8, The Bold and the Beautiful

We applaud CBS Daytime's The Bold and the Beautiful for venturing into the world of web serials, but next time can it be an afterhours peek into Brooke's (Katherine Kelly Lang) Bedroom? Room 8 was a lame, dated, vanilla dud — both on TV and on the net.

Guiding Light alums Karla Mosley (Maya) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) were both welcome additions to B&B in 2013, but we'd like to see them in one of the scandalous, raunchy tales B&B is known for, not used as "C" story fluff. Though we did get a hoot out of Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) popping that waterbed! READ MORE
