Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: SVU star and former Pine Valley resident Kelli Giddish (ex-Di Henry, All My Children) and SVU co-star Danny Pino were among the NBC stars who turned out to promote their shows at the Peacock Network’s 2013 Upfront Presentation on May 13. Blair Underwood (ex-Bobby Blue, One Life to Live) and former daytime talk show host Nate Berkus also have new shows, Ironside and American Dream Builders respectively, premiering on NBC during the 2013-2014 season. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched Law & Order: SVU, but this week I’m going to make an exception. Not only will I get to see All My Children alum Kelli Giddish and guest star Treat Williams (anyone else still miss Everwood), but more importantly, former Guiding Light star Beth Chamberlin appears in the December 7 episode. I've been looking forward to seeing her in this episode since her appearance was announced in November.
Chamberlin portrays Georgia Stanton, a wife who must deal with the after affects of her husband Jake Stanton (Treat Williams) football injuries and an investigation by the Special Victims Unit when he is busted in an underage hooker sting operation. Joseph Cilibrasi, the fromer business manager of Law & Order: SVU and ex-As the World Turns star Tamara Tunie, has admitted to stealing over $1 million from the actress, according to the New York Post. Reportedly, the crime took place over the course of a decade.
Prosecutor Peirce Moser said Cilibrasi stole from Tunie by opening a credit card account in her name and writing himself checks from her bank accounts. He used the money to invest in theater and movies, to fund his business and to take vacations, prosecutors said.
Cilibrasi will be sentenced on January 4.
Law & Order: SVU star Tamara Tunie (ex-Jessica Griffin, As the World Turns) was honored with the Linda Dano HeartShare award at the 2010 HeartShare Gala on March 25 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City. One Life to Live’s Robert S. Woods and wife Loyita Chapel attended, as did former Another World star Stephen Schnetzer (Cass Winthrop). Tamara Tunie dropped by The Today Show to talk about the season finale of Law & Order: SVU, which airs June 2nd, on NBC. It's a crying shame that As the World Turns didn't figure out a way to keep her in Oakdale while pulling double duty between the two shows.
