First Impressions: Michael Strahan Debuts on Live! With Kelly and Michael

It’s official! Former NFL star Michael Strahan made his debut as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on the newly renamed Live! With Kelly and Michael this morning. Strahan, a former defensive end for the New York Giants, fills the seat left vacant by Regis Philbin’s departure.

Kelly Ripa and Judge Judy Among TV’s Highest Paid Stars

TV Guide has released its annual report on TV’s Highest Paid Stars and a number of daytime stars made the list.  All My Children alum Kelly Ripa reportedly earns $20 million a year as host of Live! With Kelly.

Matt Lauer, who recently extended his stay at The Today Show, takes home a hefty $21.5 for getting up so early. Mario Batali cooks up $6,000 an episode on The Chew.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos to Attend White House Correspondents’ Dinner

All My Children alums Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are among the celebrities attending this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 28 in Washington D.C., according to Politico. The couple—along with Martha Stewart, The Big Ban Theory’s Johnny Galecki and Pan Am’s Kelli Garner—are guests of USA Today.

Various Hollywood types also providing sparkle to the event include: Eva Longoria, George Clooney, Viola Davis and Uggie, the dog from The Artist. My personal fave WHC Dinner celebrity headline comes from JezebelFox News to Bring Political Expert Kim Kardashian to White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Kelly Ripa Among THR’s 35 Most Powerful People in Media

Former All My Children star turned talk show host Kelly Ripa is among the daytime celebrities included in The Hollywood Reporter’s 35 Most Powerful People in Media.  In THR’s profile, Ripa discusses the ongoing search to replace Regis Philbin as her co-host.

But even amid talk of firming up the chair, Ripa says there’s “no urgency” to finding a permanent replacement and notes the show’s steady performance since Philbin’s exit. (It recently matched its February 2011 sweep rating of a 2.7 in households and is now the top syndicated talker among the coveted women 25-to-54 demo.) READ MORE
