Oprah's Interview With Lance Armstrong Grabs 4.3 Million Viewers


 

Oprah Winfrey’s one-on-one interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong brought in 4.3 million total viewers on its Thursday night debut. The 9-10 pm  first portion of the chat netted the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) 3.2 million viewers, while the 10:30 pm second airing of the telecast averaged another 1.1 million viewers.  The special was the highest-rated weekday show in the history of the network in all key demos.

Anderson Cooper on Lance Armstrong Doping Scandal: "He Was a Complete Jerk About This For Years and Years"




Don’t expect Anderson Cooper and disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong to go bike riding anytime soon.  On Wednesday's episode of Anderson, Cooper and guest co-host Dari Alexander discussed Armstrong copping to using performance-enhancement drugs in an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Silver Fox remarked:

I've got to say he was a complete jerk about this for years and years and years. He wouldn't just deny this. He would go after and try to destroy the people who were telling the truth and people who were telling the truth would get anonymous death threats. Even the guy from the anti-doping agency got anonymous email death threats; it's not known who it's from.

Discovery Networks and Oprah Winfrey are doing it big when it comes to the talk show queen's upcoming interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong. Winfrey's one-on-one with Armstrong will be streamed live on The Mighty O's website while the interview airs as part of Oprah's Next Chapter on OWN. Shonda Rhimes on Katherine Heigl's Grey's Anatomy Exit: "On Some Level It Stung"

Don't expect Katherine Heigl to return to Seattle Grace anytime soon. Grey's Anatomy showrunner Shonda Rhimes spoke with Oprah Winfrey Sunday night to discuss her latest primetime drama Scandal, featuring Kerry Washington.  The Mighty O asked Rhimes about Heigl's controversial 2008 decision to pull her name from Emmy nominations. Fans of the series recall Heigl told the press she wasn't submitting since the writing for her character wasn't up to snuff. Ouch. Rhimes has kept mum on Heigl's diss until now. Said Rhimes on Oprah's Next Chapter:

OWN's Lisa Ling Weighs in on Oprah's Sit Down With The Kardashians





Not everyone is pleased about Oprah Winfrey airing a two-part interview with the Kardashians. OWN's Lisa Ling voiced her opinions on Reality TV's first family to Access Hollywood Live. Ling stated:

I had my issues with the Kardashians, absolutely. I think there’s so much wrong with how they are the most revered family in the country, but they are, nevertheless. So I get why Oprah wanted to interview them. I mean, they are icons in pop culture right now.
