CW Will Bring Back Reign, The Originals and Three Other Series

Fans of The CW’s soapy dramas can get ready to celebrate. The teen-oriented network has given early renewals to five of its series, including freshman dramas Reign and The Originals!
Old favorites Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries will also be returning for the 2014-15 season. 
Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, said:

This season we’ve had great success with our new hit series The Originals paired with Supernatural, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years.  […]  The Vampire Diaries is No. 2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with Arrow continuing to gain among young men, and Reign growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.


The CW Scores Most-Watched Tuesday in Five Years

The ratings for the fall finales of The Originals and Supernatural gave The CW its most-watched Tuesday since Nov. 4, 2008.  More than 2.45 million viewers tuned in. This most recent episode of The Originals was also that series’ most watched. READ MORE

Castiel’s in Trouble on Tonight’s Supernatural Mid-Season Finale (PROMO)

After a massive angel slaughter, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester set out to make things right.  Castiel (Misha Collins) also starts working the case — and then finds himself captured.
As if dead angels and kidnapped Castiel weren’t bad enough, it looks like Dean may finally have snapped.

Check Out The CW's Fall Soap Preview!

The CW will kick off their Fall 2013 programming with the fifth season premiere of The Vampire Diaries. This will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3 and will be followed by the premiere of The Vampire Diaries spinoff, The Originals
The young, mostly undead, adults of Mystic Falls will be dealing with transitioning to college life.  Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) will also still be in the honeymoon phase of their relationship.  Katherine will be stuck readjusting to being human, while the villainous Silas masquerades as Stefan (Paul Wesley).  READ MORE

The CW Preps a Supernatural Spin-Off

The CW ordered a spinoff of its biggest hit, The Vampire Diaries, with The Originals. Now it looks like Supernatural, could get the same treatment.

According to TVLine,  the serial, starring Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady, DAYS) and Jared Padalecki,  will feature a backdoor pilot for the potential spinoff “in or around Episode 20”. Watch a Comic-Con preview of Supernatural's upcoming season after the jump!
