Dallas' Ken Kercheval on Death of Larry Hagman: "Your Spirit Will Live Long"

J.R. Ewing (the late Larry Hagman) and Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) may be mortal enemies on Dallas, but in real life Kercheval is mourning the loss of "a friend and long time partner" this Thanksgiving weekend. Here's what the actor tweeted:


Dallas Showrunners Begin Working on J.R. Ewing's Endgame

As the pop culture world mourns the loss of Larry Hagman, producers of TNT's hit Dallas reboot are set to begin scripting a proper finale for his unforgettable, supervillain J.R. Ewing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hagman filmed six of Seasn 2's 15 episodes, set to premiere Jan. 28.

While there is no word on how Hagman's passing will impact production for the remainder of the season, it reportedly won't alter the premiere's schedule. Said Cynthia Cidre and Michael M. Robin in a joint statement:

"Larry Hagman was a giant, a larger-than-life personality whose iconic performance as J.R. Ewing will endure as one of the most indelible in entertainment history," the statement said. "He truly loved portraying this globally recognized character, and he leaves a legacy of entertainment, generosity and grace. Everyone at Warner Bros. and in the Dallas family is deeply saddened by Larry's passing, and our thoughts are with his family and dear friends during this difficult time."


DEVASTATING NEWS: Dallas Star Larry Hagman Dead at 81

The entertainment community is reeling from the loss of Larry Hagman. He was 81. The legendary I Dream of Jeannie and Dallas actor died Friday at Medical City Dallas Hospital. He had been battling cancer. Said a family spokesperson:

“Larry was back in his beloved Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved most,” the family said in a statement. “Larry’s family and close friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for. The family requests privacy at this time.”


GH Grad Annie Wersching to Recur on TNT’s Dallas

Former General Hospital star Annie Wersching (Amelia Joffee) has landed a role on TNT’s primetime soap Dallas, according to TV Line. Reportedly, she will portray an “ambitious and sexy transportation commissioner.”

TV Line has learned exclusively that the actress will recur during Season 2 of the hit cable drama as an ambitious and sexy transportation commissioner. Sources tell me that Wersching’s character, though married, just might mix it up with John Ross and/or Christopher.

After leaving General Hospital, Wersching went on to star opposite Kiefer Sutherland on the Fox spy thriller 24.

Get ready for the scheming Ewings and Barnes clans of Braddock County, TX to return this January. TNT has announced Season 2 of their smash hit Dallas will commence on Jan. 28.  Newcomers to the series, or those needing a refresher course can purchase the Season 1 DVD on Jan. 8.
