Watch What Happens Live

Andy Cohen Names Brian Frons "Jackhole of the Week" During Susan Lucci's Appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live!

If I hadn't already been a big fan of Bravo's Andy Cohen, tonight's installment of his talk show Watch What Happens Live definitely would have done the trick! Cohen had The Avengers star Mark Ruffalo and soap goddess Susan Lucci on as guests.

During the chatfest, Cohen shared his memory of writing Lucci a letter when he was 19. Shocker of shockers, the All My Children legend actually went to lunch with her fanboy and continued to run into him over the years, as he climbed his way to the top of the television heap. Speaking of TV execs, Cohen won the love of soap fans worldwide when he named Brian Frons "Jackhole of the Week," due to the former ABC Daytime chief's decision to cancel All My Children. Awesomeness!

Susan Lucci to Guest on Watch What Happens Live This Thursday!

Just what will soap-a-licious diva Susan Lucci dish with Andy Cohen when she guests on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live this week? The All My Children star is slated to appear on the late night talk show this Thursday night, alongside Mark Ruffalo.

I can't wait to see La Lucci play "Plead The Fifth"! Watch What Happens Live airs Mon-Thurs at 11 PM EST on Bravo.

Social TV: Can Daytime Soaps Better Use Social Media to Stay Alive?

Everywhere you look these days there's an article about the phenomenon of "Social TV". Fans logging into Facebook, Twitter, Get Glue and other social networking platforms to dish about their favorite series with online pals has become highly important to a television program's success. It has also played a factor in affording several on the bubble series reprieves. Could the Social TV craze have played a factor in General Hospital's recent pardon by ABC?

According to TV Guide, GH being picked to stay on the ABC airwaves, as the Mouse House decided to gut The Revolution, helped the 49-year-old sudser top the site's Social Power Ranking. Almost a week after the news was broken by Deadline, GH is still the No. 1 television series on TV Guide's list.  Speaking of Deadline, their piece on The Revolution being cancelled, a Good Morning America spin off temporarily taking its place this summer and General Hospital reportedly living to see its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2013, remains the site's most commented on post.

None of this comes as a surprise to diehard soap fans, who witnessed #GeneralHospital and various characters from the series trending on Twitter in the weeks and months leading up to the announcement. We already knew GH was one of the most buzzed about shows on the web, but the question is, what can General Hospital and other soap operas do to turn their Social TV currency into actual ratings?

DAYS' Joe Mascolo on Lisa Rinna: "Saying Taylor Should Have Her Lips Reduced, Calling Me Worst Actor on DAYS is Sort of Like The Pot Calling The Kettles Black!"

Lord, this mess is getting better than any soap opera on TV! Days of Our Lives' patriarch Joe Mascolo (Stefano) has fired back at onscreen stepdaughter Lisa Rinna (Billie) for dissing both him and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong recently on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live.

While playing host Andy Cohen's game "Plead The Fifth," Rinna agreed that "Stefano DiMera" aka Mascolo, was the worst actor in DAYS' history. She also said RHOBH's Armstrong would be the one person she would suggest have a lip reduction surgery, similar to the one Rinna underwent.

Here's Mascolo's response to Soap Opera Digest:

"Lisa saying that Taylor should have her lips reduced and calling me the worst actor on DAYS is sort of like the pot calling the kettles black! READ MORE

Days of Our Lives' Lisa Rinna on Joe Mascolo SLAM: "I Think I'm Stefano's Next Hit For Sure! Yikes...."

‏Is Lisa Rinna already starting to regret bad mouthing Days of Our Lives castmate Joe Mascolo (Stefano) on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live earlier this week? Here's what the actress, who returns to DAYS this week as Billie Reed, cryptically tweeted:

Star Jones on Celebrity Apprentice Rival Lisa Rinna's Breathing Diss: "I Guess My Lungs Weren't Processing Air to Her Satisfaction"

Leave it to Star Jones to shut you down in a nice way. I asked the Today Show expert on Twitter about her thoughts on Days of Our Lives star Lisa Rinna admitting on Bravo's Watch What Happens LIve that Jones' "breathing" was the biggest thing that irked Rinna when the two appeared together on Celebrity Apprentice. Jones tweeted back the following exchange:
