Emmy-nominated web series The Bay returns January 5. Following the elite denizens of Bay City, The Bay tells the story of socialite Sara Garrett (Mary Beth Evans) and her son Peter (Kristos Andrews). The soap also explores the various sordid affairs and blackmail schemes the Garretts and their acquaintances get mixed up in.
In anticipation of the premiere, the cast teased what’s ahead.
While Tristan Rogers, who plays police commissioner Lex Martin, said he would like to eventually see a Lex/Sara pairing, it’s not in his character’s immediate future.
Lex hasn’t changed much – he's involved with some family stuff, but he’s mostly concentrating on the police department and police matters. READ MORE
The producers of popular webisoap The Bay have been on a soap vet casting spree of late. General Hospital, Beverly Hills, 90210, Sunset Beach and Passions alum John Reilly; One Life to Live and Guiding Light's Fiona Hutchinson; Brian Gaskill of Models, Inc., All My Children, Port Charles and Guiding Light fame and Scott Bailey (Saints and Sinners, Guiding Light) have all joined the The Bay franchise!
Tonight's the night, webisoap watchers! Daytime grad Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady, Days of Our Lives; ex-Rick, The Bold and the Beautiful) makes his debut on the outrageously entertaining SFN webisoap DeVanity.
Lowder will be playing the role of Andrew Regis, a spoiled, mega-rich schemer, hellbent on seizing control of the struggling DeVanity jewelry dynasty from Jason DeVanity (series creator Michael Caruso). Anyone who recalls Lowder's camptastic villainy as Rick Forrester opposite Ron Moss' Ridge on The Bold and the Beautiful knows this is a role he was born to play. DeVanity airs at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST exclusively on www.sfntv.com. Watch a trailer for Season 2 after the jump!
The 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards were held last night in New York and several of our favorite webisoaps took home awards. Gregori J. Martin's steamy, throwback sudser The Bay took home the Fans' Choice Award, as well as Oustanding Directing (Martin). Major props to Martin, as well as all the peeps who have made The Bay so red-hot. Is it really any wonder ATI decided to back the serial?
Crystal Chappell's popular webisoap Venice took home two acting wins. One Life to Live's Hillary B. Smith (Guya) won for Outstanding Supporting Actress, while former Guiding Light star Jordan Clarke (John) won Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Gregory Turner and Brian Hewson's campy webisoap Empire, took home the award for Best Storyline for the arc that saw villaness Theodora (Guiding Light alum TIna Sloan) taking over her family's magazine.
Now for the biggies. The award for Indie Soap of the Year went to Robert Townsend's Diary of a Single Mom. The serial's star, Monica Calhoun (Ocean), also took home the win for Oustanding Lead Actress.
Outstanding Lead Actor went to the uber-talented Anthony Anderson, creator and star (Sean) of what I call the "Black Knots Landing" Anacostia. Congrats to all the winners and nominees! For the complete list of winners for the 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards see below: READ MORE
