Desperate Housewives star and former Young and The Restless alum Eva Longoria Parker is slated to host the 2008 ALMA awards.
Longoria Parker will be pulling double duty a the award show, not only will she host but she's also the executive producer.
"What better way is there to celebrate than with a star-studded showcase of Latino contributions to American culture? We are also delighted to have Eva back as our host. She's respected and talented in the entertainment industry and a true champion for our community, "Janet Murguia, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza -- one of the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States -- said in a statement. The show will coincide with the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.
"I am honored to executive-produce and host the ALMA Awards with NCLR again," Longoria Parker said. "Every year I think we build a stronger show with some of the most amazing talent and performers."
The ALMA awards show honors Latino contributions to the entertainment industry will tape Aug. 17 and broadcast on Sept. 12 on ABC.
