Handicapping Needed Daytime Emmy Categories

TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco handicaps an imaginary Daytime Emmy category, Outstanding Guest Actress, in his latest Nelson Ratings. Here are his nominees.

—Cady McClain (ex-Dixie’s Ghost, All My Children)

—Alley Mills (Pamela Douglas, The Bold and the Beautiful)

—Shirley Jones (ex-Colleen Brady, Days of our Lives)

—Carolyn Hennesy (Diane Miller, General Hospital)

—Genie Francis (Laura Spencer, GH)

—Lea Delaria (Madame Delfina/Delbert Fina, One Life to Live)

—Barbara Garrick (ex-Allison Perkins, OLTL)

—Pamela Peyton-Wright (Addie Cramer, OLTL)

—Signy Coleman (ex-Hope Wilson), The Young and the Restless

Personally, I think Nelson has a point. There is a valid argument for having a Guest Actor and Guest Actress category. In an era where big name stars for the 80's and early 90's are returning for short stints, what better way to capitalize on their names and help boost interest in the award show itself?

Who would you nominate as Oustanding Guest Actress?
