Yesterday All My Children celebrated its 10,000th episode. It chose simplicity with a big dose of sentimentality. Unlike the recent gluttony of CGI the episode, the 10,000th episode focused on character driven storytelling, pulling on the shows history in a way that recent and long time fans can appreciate. I started to choke up a little at the voice overs, watching each of the major family units in prayer. It was poignant. The return of Agnes Nixon was a wonderful touch and her closing out the show was practically perfect in every way.
Kudos to All My Children for its 10,000th celebration and One Life to Live's 40th anniversary episodes. As for General Hospital, I haven't forgiven you for that 46 second joke of a tribute on your 45th anniversary earlier this year.
