"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to watch, an episode of Days, hey!"
Ho Ho Ho Days fans, no, I'm not talking about Daniel, Chloe or Nicole, its Christmastime in Salem! Unfortunately it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas without Alice, but we will get Doug in a Santa suit reading the Christmas story to the sick children this year (I'll kinda miss seeing Nick the Elf). What else is in store? Well, more Victor and the Carvers (sounds like a death metal band name lol), memories of loved ones lost, and a bit of family rivalry between uncle and nephew (and no, it's not over Stephanie). All this and more on this week's special Christmas Edition of the Preview from Denial Island (December 22 - 26).
“This comes to pass, when a child is born” Sami wants to give her child to the nuns – but only for a little while. Smartly, Rafe refuses to help. Convince her to tell EJ, Rafe! They share Christmas ‘Mexican style’ but the only thing that jingles Sami’s bells is a webcam chat she has with Johnny and Allie. EJ makes an appearance too, which is sure to spur Nicole on into green-eyed monster mode. Of course EJ doesn't see Sami's belly, and so the complete dumbing down of EJ continues. UGH!
"Make my wish come true, baby all I want for Christmas is you” Nicole wants one million dollars from Brady. He refuses. She’s becoming more and more desperate to find the cash she promised Dr. Baker - if she doesn't pay up, he'll stop playing along with the fake pregnancy scam. Nicole dreams of making Dr. Baker quiet permanently. Will she resort to murder to solve all her problems once more? After an encounter, Dr. Baker leaves his cellphone (conveniently) behind, and Nicole invades his privacy (desperate times and all that) by looking through his phone. She's trying to find something to blackmail him with and discovers a lot of female contacts in the phone's address book. She surmises that old Dr. Baker is a dirty old man; little does she know that Dr. Baker trades in the black market for babies. After calling one of the girls in the list, has Nicole suddenly found the answer she’s been looking for?
"Do you see what I see?" Bo is still having visions - is someone in danger? He tells Hope about them and they conclude that he's probably thinking about and remembering Zack. They share nice a moment in remembrance of their dead son (played by Spencer and Garret Gray). When it comes time to hang Zack's ornament on the Horton Christmas Tree, Hope does the honors, but Chelsea arrives in time to see and becomes upset. Spoilers say they lay the past to rest, once and for all.
“I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus” Well maybe not quite, but Daniel certainly got an eyeful of Chloe in that raunchy teddy. Now they really can’t stop thinking about each other. She slams the door in his hand, then tries to help with some bondage… I mean bandage. Lucas arrived home with the gift from Kate – a diamond necklace that had been a gift from Lucas’ dad, Bill Horton. Lucky Lucas reaps all the benefits of Chloe’s teddy, but the opera singer is still thinking about Dr. McHottie. At the ornament hanging at the Horton’s, Chloe now has her own (that makes just about everyone in Salem now, doesn’t it?), but when she goes to hang it, she drops it. A sign from the soap gods maybe?
“I’ll be home for Christmas” Kate is allowed to go home, but before she leaves, she insists on taking some happy snaps of Chloe and Daniel. Is Kate the next character being dumbed down or is it the chemo talking? I don’t remember her being this blind before. Especially not where her son’s happiness was concerned. Anyhoo, Daniel and Chloe end up sitting together at the Kiriakis brunch on Christmas Day and you got it, more sexual tension. They agree they need to resolve this "problem" and I agree they need to stop shopping the characters around. They're making them both the new ho's of Salem!
“You better not pout, I’m telling you why” Brady finally accepts the job that Grandfather Victor offers him. Unfortunately, Victor doesn’t include Philip in this discussion and he cracks a hissy fit. Brady didn’t like it that Philip didn’t know, they both crack the sads and threaten to quit. Victor beats them to the punch and fires them both. Who writes this crap? Oh wait, there’s more. Brady shows up at Titan and guess who spies with their beady/greedy eyes? Uh huh – Melanie.
“Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?” It seems everyone can hear them but Max and Chelsea. Are the two getting back together? Not according to Max they’re not. Stephanie admits she would have a problem with it if they did, but maybe we can ask Philip to keep her busy. Melanie overhears Philip tell Stephanie he has a Christmas surprise – but will Melanie ruin it? (Memo to Days Writers: Give up pimping Melanie on us. We don't like her. Deal with it.)
“Faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us, once more” Marlena takes Jawn to the Horton ornament hanging and he finally succumbs to the pressure of regaining his memories. He contacts Dr. Taylor and tells her he wants to remember more. On Christmas Day, the Carvers spend the morning with Bope and Ciara – this is after they find Theo who goes missing again in the few days prior to Christmas. Bo uses his new powers for good and helps find him. But is the danger over yet? Theo’s not that keen on Santa’s presents, but he does touch Lexie’s heart when he gives her a gift he’s made himself.
In Other Shorter Storylines:
- Victor has a heart to heart to EJ about Nicole. Please listen EJ!
- Stefano has his own DiMera-mas party
- Roman has a mini storyline
Look Out For:
- Zack's ghost on Christmas Eve (no, he's not the ghost of Christmas Past)
- Jack Tassis Daggenhurst (the son of Kristian Alfonso) to play one of the children at the hospital during the reading of the Christmas story
- Brady and Philip disagree over Melanie (stop wasting your breath)
- Sami gets over not spending Christmas with her kids and then starts complaining about missing New Years with them (some people are just never happy, lol)
- Melanie sets up Stephanie to bring out her green-eyed monster
- Charlotte asks Marlena to ring in the New Year with her
That's it for this week. As always, leave me a comment with your thoughts, or come join us in the TFO Days forum.
