Days Dream Gloria Loring Sings The TV Tunes of The 80's!
TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco received some intel on one of my all-time favorite 80's divas, Gloria Loring! Loring played the spiky-haired, blinged out Liz Curtis on Days of Our Lives. She also co-wrote and/or sang just about every sitcom theme song during the Regan Years.
Her Days character Liz was Salem's resident songbird, as well as a romantic rival to Anna for the affections of Tony. Later she found true, if not lasting, love with Neil. Loring is set to premiere a musical act celebrating the best of TV music called TV Tunez Tonight in Hollywood on March 22 at the Music Box Theatre in Hollywood. The above clip is of Loring as Liz and Carl Anderson recording their monster hit ballad "Friends and Lovers", which served as Shane and Kim's theme song on the soap. Take a look at a young Charles Shaughnessy and you'll immediately see why I got so pissed when Days didn' cast James Scott as Shane and Kim's son Andrew. Below check out the theme songs for Facts of Life (which Loring co-wrote and sang) and Diff'rent Strokes (Loring co-wrote the song which was recorded by then-husband Alan Thicke).
