Welcome to this week’s Daytime Confidential British Invasion. We have a lot of news to cover so sit back and relax because the Brit's are back and they want you to watch!

When I say goodbye, you say hello:

We are in for a handful of casting changes in the coming weeks as we lose one of my favorite new characters to the show and gain three new ones.

Elliott Jordan who plays Callum Monks has finished filming. Speaking about his time on the soap he said, "I've had a really great time at EastEnders and I've enjoyed working with all the cast. I've loved every minute of it and I’m looking forward to trying new things."

In the arrival department we have Syd Chambers, who will play Nina Toussaint-White, a potential love interest for Bradley. Manda Best will play Josie Lawrence, a woman from Phil's past and Theo Kelly will play Rolan Bell, a love interest for Chelsea Fox.

Digital Spy was able to sit down with the wonderfully talented Gemma Bissix (ex-Clare EE/Hollyoaks) to discuss her time on Dancing on Ice and if she will be returning to "soapland". To find out what Gemma said, check out the full interview here.

Charlie Brooks has come out saying "Janine needs a new man" when asked if there is romance in store for Janine this year. Brooks replied, "I hope so. I think we should have a big casting call with lots of handsome men and bring in somebody new!" She added: "Janine's got a healthy appetite as a maneater!" For more on that story click here.

Gavin Blyth, former Coronation Street assistant producer, has been named Anita Turner's successor as producer for the Itv soap.

Speaking about the appointment, Gavin said "Emmerdale has a great tradition of being simply unmissable television and I look forward to building on that - developing great, engaging characters and introducing compelling storylines at every turn".

It was also announced that executive producer of 24 years, Keith Richardson, will be stepping down and Steve Frost will be taking his place.

Let's hope these changes are for the better.

The original Emmerdale farmhouse has been put up for sale at £1.25 million (1.703, 625 USD). For more on this story click here.

Did Corrie bosses go out of their way to hide a cross in a church during Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Molly's (Vicky Binns) wedding? A spokesperson for Coronation Street denies the claims and says it was just a misunderstanding. For more on this story click here.

Coronation Street will air its 7,000th episode this Wednesday. From all of us at Daytime Confidential, we would like to congratulate the entire cast and crew for their efforts over the past 7,000 episodes and we look forward to the next 7,000.

Hollyoaks new producer Lucy Allan made one of her first big casting moves as she signed Hollyoaks Later's stars Melissa Walton (Loretta) and Bronagh Waugh (Cheryl) to the cast. Speaking about the new additions, Allan said: "Cheryl and Loretta will bring an energy and a sense of fun to the show. The Hollyoaks football (soccer) team will be taking on an all-star team made up of stars from Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Casualty, Shameless and The Bill. It's all for charity and it's guaranteed to be a great day out, so make sure you don't miss it! The match will kick off at 1pm. General Soap news:

ITV police soap The Bill is getting it's episode order cut in half. The Itv drama which was airing twice a week will be relaunched in a post-watershed timeslot of 9pm.

No date has been set for the switch over and no further information has been announced. We will keep you posted as the story develops.

Former ITV Echo Beach star Christian Cooke has come out saying he is grateful for the soaps cancellation. In talking about his new role on the ITV drama Demons Christian told The Sun, "Things are going great now and the attention is unbelievable. I'm glad I'm not doing Echo Beach anymore because it was crap."

While Echo Beach might be canceled, it's sibling show Moving Wallpaper, will be returning with a new theme later this year.

Digital Spy broke the news that Chris Bisson (the ex-Coronation Street/ Shameless actor) will be making a guest stint on the BBC1's weekly hospital soap Casualty. Along with his guest stint, a new ambulance technician has been cast. Actress Sophia di Martino spoke about her role. She said, "I feel very lucky to be joining such a long-running and well-established drama. I'm looking forward to Polly bursting onto screens and hope viewers find her as much fun as I do."
