No. 20: Elizabeth Keifer – Guiding Light

Guiding Light’sElizabeth Keifer makes her Daytime Confidential Top 20 debut in July. Keifer is one of seven GL stars to earn a spot on the DC Top 20 this month. This is the first time so many GL stars have appeared on the list in a single month.

No. 19: Eddie Cibrian – Sunset Beach

Former Sunset Beach and Daytime Confidential Top 20 No. 1 hunkEddie Cibrian returned to the DC Top 20 at No. 19 in July. In June he fell out of the top 50 stars we track, but when word broke in July that Cibrian was separating from his wife interest in him surged.


No. 18: Justin Deas – Guiding Light


Six-time Emmy winner Justin Deas makes his Daytime Confidential Top 20 debut at No. 18. Deas may have been helped by news that Fiona Hutchinson would be returning to Guiding Light and the possible ghostly reunion between Jenna and Buzz.

No. 17: Rebecca Herbst – General Hospital


General Hospital’sRebecca Herbst slipped three spots from No. 14 in June to No. 17 in July. The demise of Liason continues to drag down Herbst and co-star Burton’s Daytime Confidential Top 20 ranking.

No. 16: Kim Zimmer – Guiding Light


Guiding Light's Kim Zimmer last appeared in the Daytime Confidential Top 20 at No. 3 on April’s countdown. In June she missed out on the DC Top 20, coming in at No. 37. In July she returns DC Top 20 at No. 16.

No. 15: Wendy William – The Wendy Williams Show


Controversial talk show host  Wendy Williams makes her Daytime Confidential Top 20 debut at No. 15 on July’s list. In July, a new season of The Wendy Williams Show debuted and helped spawn interest in the shock jock-turned daytime gabber.

No. 14: David Andrew MacDonald – Guiding Light


News of David Andrew MacDonald’s return as Edmund to Guiding Light skyrocketed him from No. 41 in June to No. 14 on the Daytime Confidential Top 20 in July. MacDonald’s No. 14 ranking is the highest debut of any star on the DC Top 20 in July.

No. 13: Steve Burton – General Hospital


General Hospital’s Steve Burton continues to edge down the Daytime Confidential Top 20. In June Burton appeared at No. 12. In July he slipped to No. 13. This is the lowest Burton has ever been on the DC Top 20.

No. 12: Maura West – As the World Turns


As the World Turns’  Maura West climbed three spots from No. 15 on June’s Daytime Confidential Top 20 to No. 12 in July. Interest in West could have been spurred by her anticipated maternity leave and the culmination of her exit storyline.

No. 11: Farah Fath – One Life to Live


One Life to Live's Farah Fath is inching her way closer back a Top 10 spot on the Daytime Confidential Top 20. The last time she appeared among the DC Top 10 in June of 2008. She moves up two spots from No. 13 in June to No. 11 in July.

No. 10: Marcy Rylan – Guiding Light


In June Guiding Light’sMarcy Rylan missed out on the Daytime Confidential Top 20, coming in at No. 28. In July she jumped 18 spots to No. 10. This is the first time Rylan has appeared in the DC Top 10. As the end of GL grows closer expect to see interest in the GL stars spike as readers try and find out where stars might end up.

No. 9: Victoria Rowell – The Young and the Restless


Victoria Rowell returns to the Daytime Confidential Top 10 for the first time since April. In June she ranked No. 23. This month the two-time DC Top 20 No. 1 star climbs 14 spots to No. 9. It will be interesting to see how Rowell does on August’s countdown after rumors began to swirl of her possible return.

No.8: Alicia Minshew – All My Children


Alicia Minshew is All My Children’s standard bearer on the Daytime Confidential Top 20. The former DC Top 20 No. 1 moved up two spots from No. 10 in June to No. 8 in July.

No. 7: Daniel Goddard – The Young and the Restless

Like Alicia Minshew, Daniel Goddard moved up two spots from his June ranking in July. With the fallout from the revelation that Goddard’s Cane Ashby isn’t Phillip III it isn’t surprising to see him higher on the Daytime Confidential Top 20. Lily’s battle with cancer may also help boost Goddard’s ranking in the coming months as fans watch the Cane and Lily story play out.


No. 6: John Driscoll – The Young and the Restless


John Driscoll’s popularity with Daytime Confidential readers is holding him steady in the Daytime Confidential Top 10. For the past two months The Young and the Restless star appeared at No. 7. This month he moves up one spot to No. 6.

No. 5: Melody Thomas Scott – The Young and the Restless


Melody Thomas Scott dropped from No. 3 in June to No. 5 on July’s Daytime Confidential Top 20. With the popular The Young and the Restless actress’s departure from Genoa City it will be interesting to see if absence will make the heart grow fonder.

No. 4: Jessica Leccia – Guiding Light


Guiding Light’s Jessica Leccia is hanging tough at No. 4 on the Daytime Confidential Top 20 for the second month in a row. Leccia, who took time off for maternity leave, returned to Springfield in August and next month we’ll find out if she received a bump in her DC Top 20 ranking because of it.

No. 3: Christel Khalil – The Young and the Restless


Christel Khalil and Melody Thomas Scott swapped spots on the Daytime Confidential Top 20 from June to July. In June Khalil ranked No. 5 and this month she ranks No. 3. Last month Melody Thomas Scott was at No. 3. This month she appears at No. 5. Khalil’s The Young and the Restless character Lily is battling cancer and interest in her storyline could boost interest in her in August.

No. 2: Chris Engen – The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless star Chris Engen sustained his No. 2 Daytime Confidential Top 20 ranking from June to July. Engen appeared among the top four spots on the DC Top 20 for the past three months. Can Engen remain among the top four next month?


No. 1: Crystal Chappell – Guiding Light


In July Guiding Light's Crystal Chappell became the first actor or actress to earn a No. 1 ranking on the Daytime Confidential Top 20 for a record breaking third time. Before July, Victoria Rowell, Alicia Minshew and Chappell had each earned a No. 1 DC Top 20 ranking twice. Chappell returns to Days of Our Lives this fall.

Daytime Confidential Top 50

The Young and the Restless’Thom Bierdz appeared at No. 22. Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker came in at No. 26. All My Children and General Hospital star Finola Hughes earned a spot at No. 32. One Life to Live’s Brett Claywell made No. 35. Guiding Light golden boy Tom Pelphrey appeared at No. 43. Shemar Moore rounded out the DC Top 50 at No. 50.
