Mauceri Claims She Was Fired From OLTL Over "Religious Beliefs", Exploring Legal Options Against ABC

Well, at least now I know why Patricia Mauceri couldn't be reached for comment regarding her exit from One Life to Live. She was waiting for a bigger fish! Enter cable whale FOX News. Mauceri spoke out to the "fair and balanced" cabler's website about her dismissal from OLTL after refusing to play out her storyline as written. As I originally reported, Mauceri objected to her then-character Carlotta being portrayed as a gay-friendly Latina mother, resulting in the soap having to do an emergency recast with Saundra Santiago

"I did not object to being in a gay storyline. I objected to speaking the truth of what that person, how that person would live and breathe and act in that storyline," she said. "And this goes against everything I am, my belief system, and what I know the character's belief system is aligned to."

Now, I admit, quite readily, that it's been some time since I was in Sunday School, but doesn't Christianity frown upon adultery? Mauceri as Carlotta played out an extramarital affair with Clint Buchanan on the soap. The bible also frowns up lying. How, preytell did Mauceri wrestle with the story twist that revealed Carlotta lied about Antonio's parentage his entire life? Also, I could be wrong, but I think I've spied Mama Vega in polyester a time or three. Doesn't the Good Book say something about not wearing any man-made fabrics? Then there was that steamy, unmarried tryst with RJ. Oh well, let the blogger who is without sin, cast the first stone! Thanks drsbroadway for the tip!
