We Love Soaps' Roger Newcomb on Thursday's Stellar OLTL Eppy: "This is What Daytime Television Has The Ability to Do"

if you missed Thursday's installment of One Life to Live, stop what you're doing; tell your kids they can wait for their afternoon snack; don't worry about paying that bill (Unless you've already gotten the notice in pink, 'cause then they will cut your lights off!) and watch it now. Shiz was hilarious!

Don't believe me? Ask We Love Soaps editor Roger Newcomb. Newcomb wrote a review of the inside joke-heavy episode that saw the opening of Vicker Man: The David Vickers Buchanan Story. Here's what he had to say about the wink-wink, nudge-nudge plot point of the role of Blair (Kassie DePaiva) in the flick being played by one Mia Korf.

One of my favorite parts was the inside joke about Blair (Kassie DePaiva) being played by an Asian actress in the movie. Blair was asked about the "controversial" casting on the red carpet and replied, "I guess that's the magic of Hollywood, right?" As the credits rolled at the beginning of the movie, we learned Mia Korf (the original Asian Blair) was playing the role. What a wonderful way to poke fun at the show's history. The credits also included Harrison Ford as Bo Buchanan and Mel Gibson as Clint Buchanan. Love it!

This kind of stuff is the very reason why I praise OLTL so heavily. Is it perfect? Heck no, but at least it has a sprinkling of joie de vivre in every single episode. From the budding bromance between Todd 1.0 (Roger Howarth) and John "McPain" McBain (Michael Easton), to an increasingly-unhinged Rex (JP Lavoisier) palpitating a gun, to half the town watching little Dani's (Kelley Missal) boyfriend make his skin flick debut, One Life to Life was off the chain yesterday! To read the rest of Newcomb's review click here.
