Dear Prospect Park, Poop or Get Off The Crapper

"Cause you're hot then you're cold,

You're yes, then you're no,

You're in, then you're out,

You're up, then you're down

"Hot N Cold" — Katy Perry

Okay, I had to take a little time to breathe, pray to my Lord and Savior, Oprah Christ and then exhale shoop, shoop, shooby doo before blogging this. I really, really don't want to come to hate and despise Prospect Park, and therefore have no recourse but to unleash the kind of unbridled, venomous wrath I save up for those who cut me off in traffic and/or cancel daytime soap operas, but I tell you what, the PP boys are seriously making me want to afford them the Brian Frons treatment at this point.

After leaking that they were ditching their efforts to take the ABC soaps online—only to confirm via a blame-gaming press release five seconds later— now comes word from Variety that, whaddya know? Prospect Park is still reportedly shopping All My Children and One Life to Live.

According to the article, PP principles Jeff Kwatinetz and Rich Frank are "still intent on bringing the shows to the Internet, where they would serve as the anchors for a broader online-network play." Really? Then why the h-e-Double-Hockey-Sticks did they fart around and let Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati book new gigs?

Do these people really think any of the AMC or OLTL actors will come back to the table for more of this ham scram, slung together tomfoolery? Heck, even Denise Vasi is booking lead roles! They may figure out how to get foreign writers to pen the shows, but ain't no way in Eterna any of the actors we know and love will do these shows without AFTRA signing off.

I have supported PP's effort since jump, but now I am starting to wonder if these two aren't a pair of slick, fast-talking, details-leaking, publicity-seeking, snake oil salesmen! The fans of these shows have been through enough. I am well aware that deals come and go in Hollyweird any given day of the week, but may I suggest Prospect Park stop leaking details of their negotiations until they are once and for all damn sure they can make a go of this thing?
