SOAP BYTES: Ghosts, Pregnancies and Telling it Like it is

GH BYTES: Ghost Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is still with Patrick (Jason Thompson). Good thing he doesn’t need a Ghost Whisperer to communicate with her, I guess.  I like that she’s being his conscious as he struggles with his grief.

Have to say, in light of General Hospital’s negative reputation for killing off children, I didn’t actually expect Starr’s (Kristen Alderson) daughter Hope to go up in flames with her daddy. That’s one way to clean a character’s slate. No wonder Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) is going to be on the warpath.

Meanwhile, leave it to Michael (Chad Duell) to find a new obsession.

How many brain surgeries can Jason (Steve Burton) have? Hopefully this is the last one he (and the viewers) must endure for a very long time.

Are Jason and Sonny (Maurice Benard) interchangeable? Some would say they are; others would probably disagree.

Helena (Constance Towers): “I have wanted to put a knife in your heart for ever so long. I’m going to savor every moment.”

Now that’s an entrance! Welcome back to Port Charles Holly Sutton Scorpio (Emma Samms).

So Ethan (Nathan Parsons) is really a Scorpio? Nothing like “Welcome to the family, let’s go the funeral of your half sister.”

DAYS BYTES: Must be a sucker punch to the gut for Dr. Hairy Chest (Shawn Christian) to be hearing Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) tell him she and Jack (Matt Ashford) didn’t work out.

I’d like to drown my TV sorrows the same way Abe (James Reynolds) is over losing the election.

Another miracle pregnancy for Nicole (Arianne Zucker)? How many miracle pregnancies can one character have?

Nicole to EJ (James Scott): “In your hour of need, you turned to her!”

Still haven’t found a reason why I should care about Ian McAllister (Ian Buchanan).

B&B BYTES: I have loved Lesley-Anne Down since I first watched her on Sunset Beach as Olivia. I’m going to miss seeing her after Jackie is written off The Bold and the Beautiful. I know General Hospital fans don’t want to see any new faces in Port Charles, but whenever one of my favorite actors leaves another soap, my first thought is he or she would make an excellent Cassadine or somehow worked into the Quartermaine family. Of course I immediately thought that about Down.

Ahhhh…Owen (Brandon Beemer) and Jackie, I just love them.

How nice was it to see Ashley Jones again? I almost didn’t recognize her last week on Private Practice, but whenever she pops back into the Forresters lives, I find myself smiling.

Not loving Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) up-do today. For some reason I prefer when her flaxen blonde hair is around her face.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Katie (Heather Tom) is giving Hope (Kim Matula) advice about her relationship with Liam (Scott Clifton) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)? The only reason Katie doesn’t have to watch her own relationship is because Steffy is focused on Katie's niece's man at the moment.

Y&R BYTES: Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to Daniel (Michael Graziadei): “Such an adult, you refuse to be a father. You refuse to take responsibility for your child. Such an adult. I’ve been waiting for you to step up, but you’re like ‘nah, not into it. Not for me.’ And here I am trying to hold things together for your daughter and you’re upset with me for keeping you away from a vicious liar and thief. Because I tried to save you from that. So you know, I need some consistency. Are you a kid I need to humor, or are you an adult that will step up, because I really need to know.” Tell it like it is Phyllis! That my friends, totally made up for the awful “Mommy knew too!” crap we endured yesterday.

If Daisy (Yvonne Zima) ends up dead, please let it be Avery (Jessica Collins) that takes her out. Kill two lame birds with one proverbial stone.

Should Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) take a vacation? With Lauren’s luck they’d end up stranded on an island after their plane crashed. Michael knows Lauren so well. Their relationship is one of my favorites in daytime.
