Once again, the cast of ABC's popular reality competition Dancing With The Stars is all everyone can talk about. With former General Hospital, Melrose Place and The Bold and the Beautiful hunk Jack Wagner representing the suds, we decided to look back on 10 other memorable daytime stars who've shook their groove thing on primetime TV!
Season 13 Winner: J.R. Martinez, All My Children (Brott Monroe)
Iraq war vet and All My Children alum J.R. Martinez became the second soap star and first All My Children alum to win Dancing With the Stars’ mirror ball trophy. He and Karina Smirnoff beat Rob Kardashian/Cheryl Burke and Ricki Lake/Derek Hough in the Season 13 finale.
Season 2: Lisa Rinna, Days of Our Lives (Billie Reed)
Soap vixen Lisa Rinna and Louis Van Amstel came out of the pack with a slow start, but quickly won judges over during Season 2 of DWTS. The Melrose Place and Days Of our Lives alum quickly became a viable contender and made the sophomore season interesting, thanks to her risque costumes and snappy comebacks to host Tom Bergeron. Despite getting top high scores from the panel, Rinna and her partner were given the axe due to viewer votes in Week 7.
Season 12: Wendy Williams, The Wendy Williams Show
How did Wendy Williams do as a contestant on the 12th season of Dancing With the Stars? Not very well. The talk show host and partner Tony Dovaolani were the third pair eliminated after Williams’ footwork failed to impress judges or viewers.
Season 7: Susan Lucci, All My Children (Erica Kane)
Who wasn't in TV heaven when "The Face of ABC Daytime" Susan Lucci was announced as part of the cast of DWTS's Season 7 cast? The All My Children superstar and her dance partner Tony Dovolani held their own against contestants such as R&B diva Toni Braxton, reality princess Kim Kardashian and former NSYNC'er Lance Bass just to name a few. Despite fracturing two bones in her foot in Week Five, La Lucci held on for two more weeks before getting the boot.
Season 3: Mario Lopez, The Bold and the Beautiful (Dr. Christian Ramirez)
The sexy, Hspanic star showed he had all the right moves when he came on for Sason 3of DWTS. Lopez and his dancing partner Karina Smirnoff were the couple to watch during Smirnoff's debut on the hit series. It probably didn't hirt that the too were dating during that season!. The Bold and The Beautiful alum and his then lady love, put all those wagging tongues at ease with their phenomenal moves, becoming the front runners to sweep the contest. Unfortunately for Lopez and Smirnoff, they lost against former NFL running back Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke.
Season 11: David Hasselhoff, The Young and the Restless (Dr. William "Snapper" Foster Jr.)
Former The Young and the Restless star David Hasselhoff is most famous for running across beaches on Baywatch (that other that videotaped hamburger incident), but he didn’t have the moves to keep him and partner Kym Johnson in the running. They were the first pair eliminated in Season 11 of Dancing With the Stars.
Season 5: Cameron Mathison, All My Children (Ryan Lavery)
Fans of All My Children were hoping once hunky Cameron Mathison was added to the Season 5 cast of DWTS, he and partner Edyta Sliwinska would make it a two-peat, in terms of a soap star taking home the mirror ball trophy. Mathison and Sliwinska set the dance floor ablaze with their version of The Jive in Week 7 Unfortunately it just wasn't enough for Mathison and Sliwinska. The two were sent home the following week.
Season 3: Jerry Springer, The Jerry Springer Show
Jerry Springer has entertained legions of fans with his trashtasticThe Jerry Springer Show for years; so it wasn’t a surprise that Dancing With the Stars would go knocking on his door for the third season of the hit reality competition on ABC. Paired with Kym Johnson, the partners waltzed their way into Week 7, where they were eliminated.
Season 10: Aiden Turner, All My Children (Aidan Devane)
One of four All My Children stars to hoof it on the Dancing With the Stars dance floor since Cameron Mathison first appeared in Season 5, Aiden Turner didn’t have the stamina to last.Turner and partner Edyta Sliwinska made their final bow as the third couple eliminated.
Season 1 Winner: Kelly Monaco, General Hospital (Sam McCall)
The General Hospital bombshell became top strutter during Dancing With The Stars' inaugural season on ABC despite her slow start. Monaco and dancing partner Alec Mazo landed in the bottom during the first week, and at the bottom of the leader board during Week 2. However, as time progressed, so did Monaco's dance moves. The GH fan favorite ultimately climbed up the ranks to make it to the finals. Soap fans proved their loyalty to Monaco by keeping their votes pouring, helping their girl to take home the first-ever mirror ball trophy.
