CBS has renewed The Talk through the 2012-13 season, with Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler returning for the chat fest’s third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reportedly, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler and the Tiffany network are happy with the gabfest's progress.
“We are thrilled with the evolution and growth of The Talk,” said Tassler. “The show has high energy, spirited conversation, relevant topics, and the audience is responding.”
Of course it doesn’t hurt that The Talk’s ratings are up against ABC’s The Revolution.
The Talk also has been performing better in its timeslot, averaging 2.16 million viewers season-to-date and recently outpacing its direct competition, ABC's newly launched The Revolution, by 60 percent.
