SOAP BYTES: Should Tom Hardy Jr. Return to General Hospital to Romance Starr? How Pissed Can Stefano Get on Days of Our Lives?

GH BYTES: Since Michael (Chad Duell) is so bland with Starr (Kristen Alderson), who else could enter the picture to create a steamier triangle? The topic has been plaguing me so much I’ve started thinking about it any time I see Michael with Starr. Matt would seem like a possible choice. He’s in the same age range, but does he have what’s needed to give the triangle some spark? . Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) comes to mind, but I’m not sure a grieving mother could handle his spastic behavior. As I mentioned in another SOAP BYTES, I think Johnny (Brandon Barash) would add some sizzle to the story. However, it may not be a good idea to mess with Johnny and Carly's (Laura Wright) chemistry. What about off screen characters, such as a recast Dillon Quartermaine? What about a drastically SORASED Spencer Cassadine?

I’ve been discussing the topic with my Daytime Confidential podcast co-host Regan Cellura. She suggested Dr. Tom Hardy (Matt Ashford) and Dr. Simone Ravelle Hardy’s (Felecia M. Bell) son Tommy Hardy. He’d be about 23 without SORASing. Matt Ashford is no longer at Days of Our Lives and Tom Hardy was once involved with the returning Felicia (Kristina Wagner). It could work on multiple levels. Just don’t cast Barret Helms in the role. He didn't work on One Life to Live and there is no reason to believe he'd work with Alderson on GH.

Poor Kate (Kelly Sullivan), she can’t even spend a night with Sonny without Connie popping up.  The DID storyline has provided Sullivan a great opportunity for showcasing her acting chops.I can’t wait to see what happens if Kate is committed against her will.

Steven Webber (Scott Reeves) is an interesting character in scenes with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) or Heather (Robin Mattson). Opposite anyone else and he’s a bit of a drag lately.

Elizabeth: ”Thanks again for lunch.”

Ewen (Nathin Butler):  “No worries, I still owe you that dessert.”

Elizabeth: ”Just let me know when.”

Ewen: “Sure you won’t mind dating a murderer?”

Ewen: “Sorry that didn’t come out right.”

Elizabeth: “I certainly hope not.”

Was that a Freudian slip on Ewen's part?

Ewen  goes on to explain Matt (Jason Cook) and Spinelli's (Bradford Anderson) conspiracy theory. However, I still can’t help wondering if Ewen mentioning being a murderer might have greater meaning.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) and John (Michael Easton) have untapped scene partner chemistry. It sort of reminds me of how much more interesting John was when he was sharing scenes with David Vickers (Tuc Watkins).

John mentioned my beloved Natalie (Melissa Archer)! If John is going to be a viable love interest for Sam (Kelly Monaco), he needs to break up with Natalie, preferrably onscreen!

As Jamey Giddens mentioned on our recent podcast, there needs to be a scene where Natalie slaps the hell out of Sam. John can’t leave Natalie for another woman without someone getting hit. It just wouldn’t be right.

John to Sam: “What happens if the baby is Franco’s?”

That is a very good question.

Y&R BYTES: Every time I see Jill on my screen I smile. Then I remember Jess Walton is taking a lengthy sabbatical from The Young and the Restless and my smile turns upside down.

Thank goodness Billy (Billy Miller) overruled Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) suggestion to name the baby Cecil. However, naming him John was a nice touch. It sure would be nice if John’s (Jerry Douglas) ghost would pop up again.

It’s a big day for Devon (Bryton James). He can hear, and he mentioned Drucilla (Victoria Rowell)! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Dru clawed her way back up that cliff and returned to Genoa City?

Do you want to see Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Harmony (Debbi Morgan) together?  I’m not getting seeing an ounce of chemistry from them. I've tried giving them a chance, but I'm just not feeling it.

The point of Carmine (Marco Dapper) is what again? What do you think of his chemistry with Abby (Marcy Rylan)? He owned a pet pig in Jersey, seriously? So far I’m not digging the Jersey Shore vibe of the character.

DAYS BYTES: Rafe (Galen Gering) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) have more chemistry than some of his other pairings, but I’m still not sold on them.  I do not believe for a second that Nicole will be able to pull off Rafe being her baby daddy. It's only a matter of time before EJ (James Scott) finds out.

Sami to Nicole: “Some people always play the victim.”

Nicole: “That’s rich coming from you.”

What do you think of Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) new crib? Do you love it, hate it or just don’t care?

Why wasn’t Camila Banus one of the actors fired in Days of Our Lives’ latest bloodbath? If we’re going to get rid of big name actors, it’s only fair to get rid of some smaller ones who can't act.

Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) is pissed that John (Drake Hogestyn) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) have double crossed him.  Too bad he figured out the truth before they hopped a fast flight out of Alamania. How pissed can Stefano get? We might just find out.

I can’t wait to see Charles Shaughnessy back on Days of Our Lives. Unfortunately, he doesn't arrive until May 2.

For a show professing viewers want romance, very little love is in the air in Salem.

B&B BYTES: Watching the pool party on The Bold and the Beautiful over the past week has me wondering why Brad Bell hasn’t tried to line up a BOD body spray product placement tie-in. Summer is almost here and there will be plenty of opportunities for men to go shirtless. The stuff could be strategically positioned around the pool and in the pool house.

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is back in L.A. and that's a good thing. However, it's got to hurt listening to the man you love talking about his relationship problems with the woman you think of as his mistress.

Hope (Kimberly Matula) survived her pill-induced pool dive and now she’s an emotional wreck. How much lower will Hope spiral, as she tries to keep control of her life?

I love that Amber (Adrienne Frantz) is Hope’s talk-to. Poor Hope doesn’t even realize she’s fallen into Amber’s Venus flytrap. I wonder what Amber will do next?
