GH BYTES: My favorite soap moment on Wednesday was hearing Todd’s (Roger Howarth) ringtone for Heather crying out, “Crazy calling! Crazy Calling!” I still haven’t found my all-time most desired ringtone–the one used by CTU’s phones on Fox’s 24–so I might have to settle for getting a copy of “Crazy calling! Crazy calling!”
Now there’s a way General Hospital could earn money to pad its budget, sell ringtones! Family Guy, The Simpsons and many other TV series have made lots of money by turning their quotes into ringtones. Why can’t GH do the same?
People spend a lot of money on ringtones. I know I'd pay a buck or two for a Liason,Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) or Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) ringtone! I'm sure JaSam fans would do the same for a tone featuring their fave couple. Come on, ABC, make it happen!
Todd to Heather (Robin Mattson): “I’d give anything to see you locked in a room with Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser).”’
Todd to Carly: “Blair and her manwhore are making sweet love in their hotel room, probably right now.”
Blair (Kassie DePaiva) arrived in Port Charles, for the launch of Starr’s (Kristen Alderson) stint as the opening act for the Haunted Star. Todd was initally upset she ended up with a room at Metro Court, until he learned Tomas (Ted King) wasn't there. I love seeing One Life to Live characters pop up in Port Charles. It’s a connection to ABC’s soap past.
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) continues to have a problem with Lulu’s (Julie Marie Berman) partnership with Johnny (Brandon Barash). He suffered a nightmare about catching his wife sleeping with the “reformed” mob prince. Dante and Lulu ended up fighting over the cost of her dress and about Johnny sending her flowers.
One of the things I’m really appreciating about GHlately is the pace. So much is happening and things are moving fairly quickly.
B&B BYTES: Marcus (Texas Battle) ran over some poor man while texting. Apparently he never signed Oprah’s pledge. What exactly keeps so Marcus so busy? He’s one of a number of B&B characters whose airtime is limited by the suffocating fog of Steffy/Liam/Hope.
Katie (Heather Tom) and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) caught up at the wedding shower and discussed everything going on in their family.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) ripped into Liam (Scott Clifton) yet again re: Hope and Steffy. Brooke made it very clear she won’t put up with Liam hurting her daughter.
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) apologized to Hope (Kim Matula) for kissing Liam on Hope's wedding day. Does anyone else wonder how long it will be before Hope goes in search of pills again?
Stephanie (Susan Flannery) to Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd): “After menopause you never sleep.”
DAYS BYTES: After Tuesday's thoroughly boring episode of Days of Our Lives, Wednesday’s episode was a bit more interesting.
Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) caught Will (Chandler Massey) getting the envelope out of the safe at the Brady Pub. Lucas tried to talk sense into his son, but he didn’t make much of an impact on Will.
While Will was busy making a call to EJ, Lucas snooped around in Will’s backpack, discovering the envelope. The smirk on Lucas’ face was a great tease.
It was hilarious to watch Sami (Alison Sweeney) trying to cover up, when she opened the door to EJ in her negligee. Considering how often they have grief sex, it's not like he hasn't seen it all before.
Abe (James Reynolds) found out John (Drake Hogestyn) is working to claim his DiMera birthright. I always enjoy a good corporate power struggle, especially if it injects a little life in Salem.
Lucas called Rafe (Galen Gering) to tell him he needed to talk. Later, he dropped by John and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) with the letter. Meanwhile, EJ told Will he had nothing to worry about, because everything was circumstantial. Those were famous last words, because Rafe was on his way to arrest EJ.
Of course we still had to endure the Melanie (Molly Burnett) kidnapping story, but at least it wasn’t front and center.
Y&R BYTES: Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless was one of the few times I've actually liked Avery (Jessica Collins), since her arrival in Genoa City. It was great to see Phyllis' sister tell off a self-righteous Nick (Joshua Morrow), and demanding to know if his wedding vows actually meant anything.
Her nickname may be Cricket, but Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) is more like a blonde pit bull these days! When the order came in to arrest Phyllis, Cricket rushed to the coffee house with Ronan (Jeff Branson), and had him arrest Phyllis in front of her daughter.
Sharon (Sharon Case) managed to weasel the location of Adam (Michael Muhney) and Chelsea's (Melissa Claire Egan) elopement out of Gloria (Judith Chapman) in a humorous exchange. While stringing Victor (Eric Braeden) along, Sharon headed for Kansas, presumably to stop his son from getting hitched. Now that's what I call keeping it in the family.
