DAYS BYTES: Rafe (Galen Gering) arrived at the DiMera mansion and slapped a pair of handcuffs on EJ (James Scott). Roman (Josh Taylor) revealed, while Sami (Alison Sweeney) was standing there, that EJ isn’t Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) son. Sami then hauled off and socked EJ.
Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) issued another ultimatum to Sami. He told her he won’t go down "this road" again, saying it was him or EJ. We all know how Sami gets when faced with an ultimatum.
Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Madison (Sarah Brown) revealed to Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Ian (Ian Buchanan) they were getting married the next day.
Daniel (Shawn Christian) ripped into Nicole (Arianne Zucker) because he believed she was trying to seduce him, while his daughter is missing. God, I hate this pairing. Could Daniel please die in the upcoming “DAYSaster?”
EJ told Will (Chandler Massey) to get the copy of the video surveillance and give it to his attorney. Sonny (Freddie Smith) wasn’t convinced of EJ’s innocence.
B&B BYTES: Marcus (Texas Battle) and Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd) exchanged wedding vows, while the detectives came knocking at their door. Fortunately for Marcus, Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) convinced the cops to come back later. Of course the pastor, played by famed Bell soap funny man Clarence, had to mention Marcus’ love for texting.
We get it. Texting while driving is bad. If it wasn't for getting clobbered by the "Don't Text and Drive PSA", I might have enjoyed this Steffy/Liam/Hope-free day. I guess I’ll never know.
The person Marcus ran over was Anthony, Dayzee's father figure, who was supposed to walk her down the aisle. Something tells me Marcus might not be getting any on his wedding night.
GH BYTES: Without question, the best thing in soaps on Monday was Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Heather’s (Robin Mattson) struggle and post LSD injection fallout. LoCicero rocked as a strung out Olivia. Her traumatic state provided plenty of drama and gave Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) a chance to rip into Steve (Scott Reeves).
After Dante interrupted their fight, Heather hightailed it out of the Metro Court and returned to Luke (Anthony Geary) at the cabin. She knocked out Anna (Finola Hughes), but Anna hilariously returned the favor later as the cabin was burning.
I love Heather’s reign of terror. However, as I mentioned on this week’s Daytime Confidential podcast, I worry about how long the fun can realistically last. It’s not like Heather is Helena (Constance Towers) or Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) and can afford a fast flight out of town anytime the police close in on her.
Kate/Connie (Kelly Sullivan) got Johnny (Brandon Barash) to admit he was the one responsible for the deaths of Hope and Cole (Van Hughes). I hope the knowledge that she didn’t kill Starr’s (Kristen Alderson) family will mean the Kate/Connie storyline will be brought to a swift resolution. Kate needs to leave Port Charles ASAP.
Y&R BYTES: Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) was clinging tighter to her delusions than her outfits do to her body. Boy did she get a surprise when Billy (Billy Miller) fired her from Restless Style!
Nick (Joshua Morrow), who just last week abandoned his wife, is now fully onboard Team Phyllis. He strode into Restless Style and punched the crap out of Billy for his betrayal.
Adam (Michael Muhney) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) were caugh up in the afterglow of their Kansas nuptials. It was warm, fuzzy and more than a bit sentimental, but it worked for them. Adam surprised Chelsea with the home of her dreams, which used to belong to Genevieve (Genie Francis). How long until this marriage hits its first speed bump?
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) wasn’t happy about Jack’s (Peter Bergman) corporate shenanigans. Knowing Davidson will soon be off Y&R and in Salem, makes watching her remaining scenes bittersweet.
