DAYS BYTES:  Shaken by the explosion, Salem’s residents searched the rubble for their missing family and friends. Ian (Ian Buchanan) knelt over Madison’s (Sarah Brown) body. Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) rushed to save Abby (Kate Mansi). EJ (James Scott) held onto Sami (Alison Sweeney) for dear life — because her life really did hang by his bulging biceps.

John (Drake Hogestyn) flung Lucas (Brian Dattilo) over his shoulder and carried his limp body to the Brady Pub, where an emergency medical site had been set up by Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). When Lucas awoke he revealed Sami was trapped in a warehouse. Will (Chandler Massey) overheard and promptly rushed off to find his mother. He arrived just in time to help EJ save her.

Meanwhile, Daniel (Shawn Christian) dug through rubble in search of Nicole (Arianne Zucker). I half expected him to turn green and shout “Daniel go smash.”

Beneath Salem, Brady (Eric Martsolf), Melanie (Molly Burnett), Chad (Casey Deidrick) and Gabi (Camila Banus) tried to figure out how to escape the caved in tunnels. Brady told Melanie he was marrying Madison, as Ian professed his love to the dying woman.

Y&R BYTES: Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) arrived at the Newman ranch, where she and Sharon (Sharon Case) got into a fight over the papers in Victor’s (Eric Braeden) briefcase. Nikki saw that Sharon had been burning papers in the fireplace and immediately accused her of nefarious motives. Nick (Joshua Morrow) showed up just as the two women were about to scratch each other’s eyes out.

Lauren (Tracey Bregman) paid Paul’s (Doug Davidson) bail. Free for the time being, Paul ended up at Gloworm, where Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) ripped into Daniel (Michael Graziadei) for dating Heather (Jennifer Landon), the woman trying to put her away.

Later Nikki returned to the Abbott mansion, where Jack (Peter Bergman) revealed his honeymoon surprise. Unfortunately, Nikki said she couldn’t go until she new Victor was safe. Jack gave her an ultimatum—something Genoa City residents should never do to Nikki or Victor—and of course Nikki chose to go in search of Victor instead of on her honeymoon with Jack.

GH BYTES: Sonny (Maurice Benard) proposed to Kate (Kelly Sullivan), but I could care less. The only way anything Kate Howard-related would mean anything to me would be if Megan Ward returned.

Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) found out from Lulu (Julie Marie Berman) that he’s going to be a daddy, which will make Sonny a grandfather. I’m not sure Sonny’s ego could handle such a blessed event.  Dante, however, was ecstatic.

Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton) discussed what had brought their relationship to a screeching halt…again. There were lots of tears and blubbering as the two said goodbye to one another before kissing one last time. Why do I think their separation will be temporary?

Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) awoke at the Cassadine manse and wondered what had happened to her. She left, as Jerry (Sebastian Roche) lurked in the shadows. Carly discovered that Josslyn had disappeared and started freaking out. Johnny (Brandon Barash) found the child sleeping in front of the house and wondered if she had ever sleep walked before.

B&B BYTES: Hope (Kim Matula) told everyone she is planning another wedding to Liam (Scott Clifton), as he partied with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

Pam (Alley Mills) wondered why Hope had moved out of Liam's place. Hope said she wished everyone would stop saying she moved out. If a kettle is black, you call it black, Hope. Hope revealed to a shocked Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that she’d always dreamed of getting married at Eric (John McCook) and Stephanie’s (Susan Flannery).

Hope told her mother, Ridge and Pam that nothing would ruin her wedding this time, thus revealing once again how clueless she really is.

Meanwhile, Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) and Thomas (Adam Gregory) made out beneath the California stars, as palm fronds waved in the breeze.
